Review: MAC Dazzleglass in Get Rich Quick

I recently got a hold of this MAC Dazzleglass in Get Rich Quick. This came from the MAC Guilty Passions Nicely Nude Lip Gloss Set. Even though these are suppose to be mini sizes, it actually has more product than the regular sized dazzleglasses. Go figure!

Get Rich Quick- Shimmery bronze color with pink glitters

Such cute packaging!

It has a stiff applicator wand.

Look at that beautiful pink glitters!

Swatched on my lips.

Lip Gloss Ratings
Color: 5/5
Shine: 5/5
Scent/Taste: 5/5
Packaging: 5/5
Longevity: 3/5
Value: 4/5
Overall: 27/30 A

I would definitely recommend checking this out. It is a stickier gloss but that's just MAC. I love the color and the packaging on this dazzleglass!!

Review: Rimmel Glam Eyes in Urban Flower

This is my current eyeshadow palette that I'm using. The colors are so soft and perfect for spring.

Close up of the colors

Rose Gold
Icy Pink
Cool Brown
Light green

Swatches
Bottom row has ELF eyelid primer

The main problem with this palette is the pigmentation. I can barely get any colors to show up!

How I use it
Usually I just use the rose gold as an all over color and just add eye liner and mascara on.
The green is great for lining the bottom of my eyes when I want a pop of color
The brown is good for defining but I find it's quite light when you apply it to the eyes.
And the icy pink I use for high light but not that often. I feel like the color is unnatural on my skin.

Eyeshadow Ratings
Formula          6/10
Pigmentation  4/10
Colors             5/5
Packaging       4/5
Overall         19/30 C

Overall I would not recommend this palette. It looks beautiful on the shelves  but the colors just do not translate!

Swatches: MAC Eyeshadow in Tilt

This is one of the older MAC eyeshadow packaging. I got this from my friend but I never used it. The color is Tilt and is a frost.

Check out the retro packaging! The lid screws off.

This is the swatch. It's such a beautiful color and it reflects green and purple in the light. Unfortunately I don't really use bright colors so I haven't really had a chance to use it. Also it's REALLY old so I will probably be tossing this in my next month's empties.

What's the oldest item in your eyeshadow collection? Do you find it hard to toss unused but old makeup?

ELF Eyelid Primer in Sheer

How does the $1 ELF eyelid primer perform?

I feel like an eyelid primer is a product that doesn't make a difference if it's drug store or high end. It's suppose to prevent creasing, prolong wear, and make the colors vibrant.

For me, my eyelids never get oily and I don't have a problem with creasing. So what I look for in an eyelid primer is if it makes the colors brighter and if it helps hold the color.

How I Use It: The ELF Eyelid Primer in Sheer has a skin toned color and is almost a lighter consistency concealer. Sometimes I just use it as a concealer to even out my eyelid skin tone and also underneath the eyes too. It's less cakey and heavy than my usual concealers and I use it when there's not really any problems.

How Does It Performs: This primer definitely helps make the colors more vibrant. It also helps bring out a sheen. I think it doesn't do as a good of a job as the UDPP but at 1/30th of the price, it's a much better bang for your buck. It helps my shadow adhere better as well.

Although I only notice minimal increase in length of wear. My eyelids usually can't pack on a lot of color anyways. When I put it on the bottom, it helps my eyeliner stay on, although by the end of the day there is still smudging.

Top 2 are Rimmel Eyeshadow, Bottom 2 are Too Faced Eyeshadow
Left is with ELF eyelid primer
You can see it makes the biggest difference with light shadows.

Final Verdict: I feel like priming the eyelids is a step in the makeup routine that everyone uses but for me it doesn't do anything extra. I will probably still repurchase this because it's only $1 and it serves my purposes. It's great for special events when I need my eyeshadows to pop! But on normal days I usually just wear a sheer wash of color and mascara.

Is eyelid primer an important part of your makeup routine?

What I'm Wearing #2

This is second in my series! Here's what I'm going to be wearing in March on a daily basis. Some of the items are the same as last month, but I'm switching up some brighter colors.

Face Products

1) Korres Anti-Aging primer: I really like the scent of this, but I'm not sure if it actually does anything.

2) Stila Tinted Moisturizer: I'm continuing to use this product for March. I like the product but if you too much it becomes too oily looking.

3) Benefit Hoola Bronzer: This will be for when I need to contour.

4) ELF Baked Blush in Rich Rose: This is one of my newest purchases. It's a nice blush which gives a sheen.

Hoola, Pink shades of Rich Rose, Brown shades of Rich Rose

With Primer + Tinted Moisturizer

Eye Products

1) Rimmel Extra Super Lash: It's still going strong. I like this mascara!

2) ELF Eyelid Primer: Hopefully this helps my eyeshadow show up better. Trying to finish this.

3) Rimmel Spark it Up Eyeliner:  An eyeliner in a dark metallic gold color. A softer alternative to black. I want to finish this liner.

4) Rimmel Eyeshadow Quad in Urban Flower: The colors are soo gorrgeous and appropriate for spring!

+ Rimmel Eyeshadow Quad + Mascara + Blush

I tried really hard to pack on the eyeshadow, but my camera did not pick up any color.

Lip Products

Once again, keeping it simple for lips

1) Stila Lip Glaze in Jingle: Part of All is Bright set. Pinky coral.

2) L'oreal Lipstick in Pink Champagne: On nights when I need a baby pink lip.

Comparison of Beginning to End

My before picture is already me wearing TM so not the biggest difference from beginning to end. But I like how this routine perks up my skin and makes my eyes look awake!

Are you switching up your makeup routine to welcome the spring season?

Empties: January & Feburary 2013

Here's what I finished off in Feburary! It may not seem like a lot but I think this was actually a pretty good month for me. Leave a comment with your empties post and I'd love to read it!

Makeup Related

1) Clinique Clarifying Lotion: I've never really used toners. This was nice to clean away impurities, but I'm not sure if it makes any difference in my skin. Anyone religiously use toners?

2) Random Perfume: When my bf got me a bday gift from Sephora, they included this perfume sample. But he didn't remember what it was called. I quite liked it though!

3) Vera Wang Princess Perfume: I liked this perfume so much in high school! But I think I'm a little sick of it now. It's too rich.

4) Stila Lip Glaze in Jolly: At first I wasn't too happy with this because it was quite sheer. But at the end of the use I really liked it because it's a perfect everyday gloss and you don't need to worry about using a mirror to apply.

Randoms

1) Quo Luxury Cotton Pads: I liked this perfume so much in high school! But I think I'm a little sick of it now. It's too rich.

2) Head & Shoulders Dandruff Shampoo: This was surpursingly good. There's such a stigma with head &shoulders but I'd recommend everyone to try this!

3) David's Tea- Big Apple: So yummy! It's like creamy white tea with apple flavor.

4) David's Tea- Orange Blossom: Really enjoyed this too! Tasted like sweet oranges with black tea.

JANUARY

I love that more and more bloggers are doing empties posts now. I'm always envious of how much everyone uses up. Maybe I'm just lazy and I'd rather sleep than put on makeup in the morning. But here's my addition to the blogsphere's January Empties post.

David's Tea
Recently I've been quite the David's Tea addict. It might be the cold weather, me getting sick, or that boxing day haul I did. But I have lots to get through now! Here's 4 I finished this month.

1) Rose Congou Green: Green tea with a hint of floral. Not my favorite.

2) Chocolate Chili Chai: This was so delicious during the holidays, puts you right in the Christmas spirit

3) Bamboozled: This had bamboo leaves, loved the concept but execution is lacking.

4) Prairie Berry: My favorite out of the bunch! Sweet and delicious!

Other Products

5) Two Crest toothpastes

6) Burt's Bees Lip Balm in Pomengranate: Click for review. It was good but I wouldn't repurchase.

7) BBW Hand Sanitizer in Island Margarita: This is an amazing scent! I have 3 more to finish at home

8) Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream: I love this cream. It's medium weight but so creamy for the winter. Definite repurchase.

Link me to your Empties post! Or just comment and let me know what you finished up? :)
