What I'm Wearing #3

For this month my inspiration was a tanned bronzy beautiful look. After being out in the sun a bit more (thank you Vancouver!), I dug out my ELF tinted moisturizer and I loved how it looked with more color on my face. Check out what I'm currently using.

2) Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation in 4.0: I use this for more coverage or when I have special events.

3) ELF Tinted Moisturizer in Beige: Using this as an every day foundation.

4) MAC Extra Dimensions Skin Finishing Powder in Whisper of Gilt: I'm using this highlighter everyday to achieve a glowy look. No blush or bronzers for this time.

5) Bombay Browbar Brow Pomade & Powder: This stuff is awesome! I got it from a brow salon here in Vancouver. It's pretty pricey but lasted me 2 years! Not sure why I use the wax so much faster than the powder.

Keeping my eyes simple with just a wash of color and mascara

6) Benefit Badgal Lash Mascara: This mascara deserves the hype, it's amazing.

7) ELF Eyelid Primer: This $1 product does the job. Just trying to finish this up.

8) Benefit Velvet Eyeshadow in Fawn Over You: The most beauuutifull lid color!

Continuing the neutral/bronze palette into the lips.

9) MAC Dazzleglass in Get Rich Quick: Gorgeous lipgloss with tons of sparkles. I can quickly put this on and look much more put together.

9) MACSheen Supreme in Look at Her:  A very similar color to the lipgloss. Will layer it under when I'm going out and I need the color to last. Here's a quick picture of the shade.

What's your current go to makeup look? Do you tend to switch it up every month or so?

Swatches: Benefit Velvet Eyeshadow in Fawning Over You

Fawn Over You is described by Benefit as a Cafe au Lait. It was released in the It girl collection in Spring 2009. I originally bought it for my mom because she doesn't have any eyeshadows and I thought this is the perfect basic neutral shade.

I would describe it as a champagne taupe color. The texture is amazingly smooth and is a dream to apply. I just dug it out of my collection and started using it this month and I LOVE it! <3

If I'm in a hurry I would just apply this all over my lid. Otherwise if I had more time I'd add in a darker color to my crease.

Here are some pictures!

So cute!

Isn't the color gorgeous?!

Look at the beautiful sheen.

Would I recommend it? Hmm it depends. The color is not the most unique and at $18 there are plenty of dupes out there. However I would consider purchasing the Benefit Velvet Eyeshadows in other colors  because the packaging is sooo cute, you got a lot of product (3g) for your money and the formula is top notch.

Dupes
Here are some possible dupes.

MAC All That Glitters

Urban Decay in Ruthless

Covergirl Singles in Mink

These may not look identical in the pan but I've seen swatches and they all have the same effect. This is the perfect color for a wash all over the lid.

Empties: March

I can hardly call it March empties anymore 10 days later. But here are my efforts for the past month and a bit! I'm pretty excited to finally be finishing up some products.

Make Up Related

ELF Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths
I got this in January from my ELF haul and I love this! Already repurchased. It's a lifesaver when I'm too lazy to wash my face after a long night and it takes all the makeup off!

Stila Lip Glaze in Jingle
This was part of the All is Bright lip glaze set and the second one I finished. It was a nice pink-coral color but nothing too exciting.

Etude House 44 Dark Circle Concealer
I've had this for around 4 years but I haven't used it recently. This was really good because it has a yellow tone so it matched my Asian skin better. Would recommend.

Korres Antiageing Primer
This was the first primer I've ever used and I got it from Winners last August. I really liked the smell and the texture. Not sure if it had any anti-ageing properties, and noticed minimal increase in wear time.

Randoms

David's Tea in Goji Pop
Love this flavor! Was so fruity and fresh.

David's Tea in Sencha Ashikubo
This was a very normal flavor surprisingly. It didn't wow me.

Vichy Youth Power Serum
Got this as a sample and it was a nice texture. Didn't notice any difference. I'm always skeptical about serums.

Calgon Body Mist in Hawaiian Ginger
Thank god I'm done with this! I used to like this scent in high school but not a fan of it anymore.

Tossed Away

MAC Paint Pot in Barestudy
This is a beautiful shade but unfortunately it's all dried out. I tried microwaving and blow drying it but nothing worked :( Going to keep the container for back 2 mac. But definitely would recommend.

MAC Eyeshadow in Tilt
Another product that's just too old. I got this from a friend so I don't know how old it is exactly but with the older packaging it must be around 10 years! Yuck. The color is also too bright for me to wear and is a duochrome which I'm not a fan of. Maybe I can back 2 mac this too?

Wet n Wild Lipstick in Just Peachy
Read my review on why this sucked :(

So there it is!! I'm slowly but surely downsizing my makeup collection to things I would actually use. My birthday just passed last week and I haven't even bought or received anything new makeup related! Big change from last year haha. Link me to your empties post! I would love to read it :)

Review: ELF Studio Tinted Moisturizer in Beige

This is the studio line tinted moisturizer in the shade beige. I remember in high school ordering the essentials tinted moisturizer and it was one of my favorite makeup items. Let's see how the studio line performs. It is $3 for 25mL.

The packaging is quite small but I like it because I would never finish a bigger product anyways. I stored this away since last summer because I think the shade was a little orange on me.

Here's a swatch, blended out.

This is my natural skin color. No makeup on.

I put the TM on the right side (of the picture) of my face. Do you see how it makes me darker?

I thought it would turn me orange but it actually turned into a nice tanned color. I think I will be using this in the coming months! Don't you love rediscovering items in your makeup collection?

Pros
  • The price- it's only $3
  • No scent upon application or after
  • Has SPF 20
  • Feels very light on the skin
Cons
  • Small color selection

Recommendations
I would definitely recommend you checking it out! If the color matches you, then you've got a great tinted moisturizer for the upcoming summer months at a fraction of the price!!

More ELF reviews to come! After my massive haul I realized I never posted any reviews!
