Review: Josie Maran Argan Oil

I was always skeptical to try out the different beauty oils on the market because I hate having a greasy face and hate having greasy hands. But I heard so much positive raves about the Josie Maran Argan Oil that I decided I want to try it out.

I actually bought this smaller size in late summer and used it here and there during my exchange trip. But once I got back to Vancouver, I've been using it almost daily as my moisturizer. So I feel like I can finally share with you my opinion.



I really like the dropper! 


How I use it:
I usually use half a dropper. I would put a little on my forehead, each cheek and my chin. Then I'd massage it in with my hands.

What I think:
I have pretty dry skin so I think this helped with dry patches but not more so than regular cream moisturizer. I actually didn't really like it because it does not ABSORB into my skin! Everyone talks about how it's not greasy at all, but I find it's still oily even after 10-15 mins!! Am I using too much?

Not only would my face be oily, but my hands would still be oily too. Then I have to wash my hands or else my palms will get everything I touch oily.

See how it's shiny? My skin would feel oily for a long time!


Also, I expected it to smell good but there's no smell what so ever.

Overall, I'm not a fan of this product. I hate how it doesn't absorb and leaves me feeling oily. I know it's natural and suppose to be good for you but I haven't encountered any problems with my Dermalogica line so I probably will not try any more oils.

What are your thoughts on oils?

  1. From what I've learned about using facial oils, yes, that's probably too much. The trick seems to be using like 3 drops and pressing it into my face. That said, my skin is super dry during the winter so I enjoy using more than that at night. I marinate my face. :)

  2. I like to comment on this post because I like natural beauty products and have tried the authentic argan oil in morocco and it works wonders . also have heard great reviews about rosehip oil which is thick but good for the skin . <the more natural beauty products are the healthier you are .
