Mystery Influenster Box- Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser

Last month, Influenster partnered with L'oreal to send out two boxes to selected members. The first box was suppose to be a mystery product and once the members tried to guess what brand it is, the next shipment was made out with the full size products. I thought this was quite an interesting campaign!

Unfortunately I never received the mystery box (neither did a couple others that I know), but here is my review on the full size products I received:

Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser

Inside the box were four products, here are my thoughts on them

Fortifying Shampoo
I thought the shampoo did a good job cleaning my hair. However, it wasn't anything special

Fortifying Conditioner
I think this is my favorite product out of all of them! This made my hair feel SO smooth and silky in the shower. Once it dries there's not too much of an effect but I love the smooth feel when my hair is in the water.

Strength Reconstruction Butter
This is meant to be used weekly after shampoo but I think it would be good as a spot treatment when your hair is feeling really damaged. It's a bit thicker formula but I actually found the result similar to what the conditioner did. My hair isn't that damaged though so maybe the results would be more apparent for other people.

Split Ends Bandage Serum
I tried this after blow drying my hair and put a little bit on the ends. It definitely made my hair quite shiny and was a bit oily. I'm not sure exactly what this would be used for. This is suppose to help prevent split ends.

The whole system overall is suppose to "reconstruct and preserve strength for strong hair that looks rejuvenated". My hair isn't very damaged to begin with so it's hard to tell but I've noticed since using it that I loose less hair in the shower :)

Overall, I really liked the line because of it's bright bottle, nice smell (my boyfriend even commented on how nice my hair smells), and the smoothness of the conditioner! Definitely check it out at your local drugstore!!

*I received this through Influenster. If you are interested in signing up, leave me a comment and I can send you an invitation*

Swatches: Tarte Maracuja Oil Lipglosses in Viv and Lizzy

Today I will be reviewing the Tarte Maracuja Oil Lipoglosses that came in the holiday Tarte of Giving Set.

The set was $72 CAD and included an eyeshadow palette, 8 lipglosses, and a variety of other deluxe samples. I thought it was really great value and I will try to show you the swatches of all the lipglosses as I use them. I gave one away to a friend but stay tuned to see 7 swatches!

Side note: Americans get the set for $59 which is such a crazy difference!

Doe foot applicator. Sponge tip but it's firm

Each lip gloss contains .059oz (1.7mL) of product and has a gorgeous packaging with a gold colored cap. The applicator is nice to use. There is a tingling minty feel. The texture is a bit thicker but I don't find it sticky.  The pigmentation is medium

However, I hate how I can't get all the product out. I'm almost done one of the lipglosses but I can see there's lots of products left in the rub.

Swatch on white paper to show true color

Swatch on skin

Tarte Viv: Light strawberry pink with coral undertone. Slight shimmer
Tarte Lizzy: Bright pink with a bit of fuschia. Slight shimmer

Viv is a great every day color that I've been wearing in January and I also like Lizzy for a bit more color

Review: Laura Mercier Lip Glace in Bare Pink

This is one of the lip glosses that came in the Sephora Gimme Some Lip Set. I've been using it in the past month or so.

Laura Mercier Lip Glace in Bare Pink

It has very simple packaging but it feels nice and heavy.  There is .1oz of product in here so it's not bad for a deluxe sample! Using retail price this sample would be $19 and the whole set was only $30 so it's definitely such a great deal when Sephora puts out those sample sets.

Swatch on hand- nude with a hint of pink

Swatch on my lips.

-Pigmented color. I like how it can actually give my lips a nude look
-Great texture. It's not sticky at all which is a huge plus for some people!

-The smell. It's suppose to be vanilla/creme brulee but it's too sweet/strong for my liking! Kind of smells like a drugstore lipstick
-If you put too much on or want to layer on the color it sinks into the lines a bit. See my photo

-I don't think I would repurchase the full size just because it's so expensive. I feel like there are lower price alternatives that would do a good job. But I do enjoy the product and will happily finish up this sample size.
-The brand is known for their simple and sophisticated packaging but if I'm paying a high end price I like my packaging to be unique or really eye catching

What's the most important thing for you when it comes to lipgloss? And are high end lipglosses worth it?
