Haul: Little Burgundy and Shoe Shopping Online

There are three sites I love to do my online shoe shopping and funnily they are all owned by the same company. They are: Aldo, Little Burgundy, and Call it Spring.

My favorite part is that I can return the products to any store location. I really dislike having to mail items back because of the shipping charges, so I find their return policy is super convenient!

I recently bought four items from their website and finally received them in the mail!

$29.98
This is such a fun pair with the orange piping against the purple. Don't forget the spikes!

$39.98
I thought these were the cutest loafers because of the poodle in front.

$20
Love the simple braiding and it has a leather upper

I also got a pair of chunky scarf but this I'm definitely returning. It made my hair feel so staticky and didn't look good at all! I wish more stores would develop their online shopping especially the retailers in Canada. For example Town Shoes, Nine West and Sterling.

Do you have any suggestions on where  to buy shoes? Do you like anything I picked up?

Yay it's giveaway time!

Review: Boscia Bright Stars Kit

Hello Readers!

Today's post will be about a gift set from Sephora featuring the brand Boscia. I picked up this set for $54 as I wanted to try some new skin care products.

There were 8 products in total which makes it approximately $7 for each deluxe sample size. I think it's a bit expensive but overall a great way to try out a new brand!

Makeup Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil 50mL
5/5
I LOVE this product! It's such a unique formula. It's an oil that completely cleans off your makeup including eyeliner and mascara and it has this cushiony effect that I've never felt before. I would definitely recommend checking this out if you want a cleanser that takes off everything.

Purifying Cleansing Gel 150mL
5/5
I also love this one as well! My favorite part is that it's sulfate free and doesn't irritate my eyes at all. This has a nice natural scent and foams up nicely. And it's really easy to use since you can wash your entire face but still be able to open your eyes and not have it sting!

Top: Cool Cleansing Oil
Bottom: Purifying Cleansing Gel

Look how pretty the packaging is!

Self-Defense Vital Antioxidant Moisture SPF 15mL
1/5
This is the one product I really didn't enjoy in this set. The moisturizer is too thin for my liking and I have dry skin so this doesn't quench my skin. Also the SPF or something in this lotion leaves behind this really dry feeling. So after using this my skin always flakes. Maybe good for oil skin looking for SPF but this was not good for my dry skin.

Super Charge Overnight Moisture 15mL
4/5
As you can see, I used a lot more of this as I would use it day and night. This is a medium consistency lotion and absorbs really fast. I love the light green tea scent and it does moisturize quite well. I wouldn't say it's typical of an "overnight" super charge lotion though but it's good for daily use.

Enlivening Amino Acid Eye Treatment 7mL
3/5
This was a nice serum. It felt luxurious and soothing to apply but I noticed no difference. I was hoping it would lighten my dark circles but nope. Although I don't really believe any eye cream can.

Left to Right: Daytime, Nighttime, Eye

Left to Right: Daytime, Nighttime, Eye

Tsubaki Beauty Oil 15mL
5/5
I only started using this but I really like it! It absorbs much faster than Josie Maran's argan oil and I also like the scent a lot better. Would recommend this for sure to anyone looking for a beauty oil alternative.

Green Tea Blotting Linens 100 Sheets
4/5
I never use blotting paper as I have really dry skin. I've used this a couple times to just experiment with it and I do like it. It doesn't disturb the makeup and it doesn't make my skin more dry. However, I just don't have enough experience with blotting paper to say if it's better or not.

Overall I really enjoyed trying out these items and most of these I liked! I would definitely repurchase the two cleansers and I really like the night time moisturizer and the beauty oil.

It is still available for sale on Sephora here

Review: Yu-Be Skincare

The weather in Vancouver has been crazy these past few weeks. This winter we had 3 separate snow falls which is wayyyy too much :P Luckily, I recently got to try out Yu-Be's products which really helped to keep my skin moisturized.

What is Yu-Be?

Yu-Be was established in 1957 by a Japanese pharmacist who invented a glycerin-based moisturizer.  It was made to help replenish lost moisture and soothe all types of dry skin. It is one of the longest and best selling skin care products in Japan and it's now being introduced world wide!

What kind of ingredients do the lotions have?
The cream has a concentrated glycerin base and is enriched with Vitamins B2, C, E and Camphor. The unique high glycerin content and absorbability of the cream is what makes the product so effective on extremely dry skins and sets it apart from other creams.

I got sent the Moisturizing Skin Cream, the Foaming Skin Polish and the Lip Balm to try out. See below for my review for each of the products.

Moisturizing Skin Cream
This is their best selling product and I got it in a tube and a jar but they are the same product. As soon as you open it, you can smell the Camphor scent. I don't mind it too much but I can see some people not being able to stand it. My mom actually really enjoys the scent. I'd say it reminds me of herbal medicine. But the scent of it also makes you think this product will really work. ;) It will also fade away within two minutes or so.

I found the texture a bit thick and harder to rub into my skin. But it absorbed really well and didn't leave any greasy residual feelings. And the results were really great! I've only been using it for a week but it's definitely helped to keep my skin moisturized. I have these bumps on my upper arm that has gotten way less irritating since using it. I'd definitely recommend this product if you can get over the scent.

Foaming Skin Polish
After using the cream, I thought the polish would smell the same but it actually doesn't smell like Camphor! It was the right amount of scrub and bubbles and was quite enjoyable to use in the shower. However, I'm not sure if it did anything for my skin but it was still a great product!

Lip Balm
I was super excited to receive this because I just lost my baby lips. However, I think the Camphor scent is too strong for me on this product because it's so close to my nose. I think I can use this on an occasional bases when my lips are very dry but its' more of a medicated lip balm than those you use on a daily basis.

So overall I would definitely recommend the moisturizing skin cream if you are looking for something heavy duty. This line is obviously different from the likes of Bath and Body Works or the Body Shop but it makes high quality products that work.

If you are interested in their item, it's available through their website. They also have free samples! Check out their new website here : http://www.yu-be.com/

Thanks for reading everyone!

Product Roundup #2: Mascara Edition

I did one of these at least a year ago with my tinted moisturizers but I thought it'd be fun to compare my mascaras.

What I originally said:
"One thing I always wonder when I read beauty blogs is when/where did they buy all the makeup and are they even using it?
So my product roundups will be a collection of items that I'm currently using. As well as information on where I got it, and how close I am to being done the product!"

Mascara Edition

1) Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara
Where did I get it: Sephora VIB Haul
Cost:  The Tarte set was $72
How long have I had it: Since December 2013
How much have I used: 98% I actually have only tried it once

2) Benefit They're Real Mascara

How much have I used: 90% I think I'm almost done with this mascara. Was amazing!

3) Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara- Review
Where did I get it: Off Urban Decay's Website
Cost: $5, on sale!

4) Maybelline Great Lash Curl

So it seems like I got good deals for most of these mascaras haha! My favorite is Benefit They're Real but it's almost done :( The other four are all okay but nothing is amazing! On to finding my next favorite mascara!

Any recommendations?
