2014 Empties

November 11, 2014

2014 Empties Part 1

Here are my June empties! I will have a smiley face next to each product to describe if I liked it or not and if there’s something very interesting then I will elaborate on it.

Randoms

Target Cotton Rounds 🙂
Centrum Multivitamin :/
Target Up & Up Nail Polish Remover :/
Love & Beauty Green Tea Makeup Wipes :/
Everything was kinda meh. Does anyone have vitamin recommendations haha? I feel like it helps my immune system but it all might be just my mind.

Makeup

Some really great items that I finished up.
Buxom Lip Polish in Dolly 🙂 – Review
Korres Querctin & Oak Face Primer :/
Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Zero 🙂
MAC Dazzleglass in Get Rich Quick 🙂 – Review
Mary Kay Lipgloss Sample :/
Love the buxom lip gloss and the UD eyeliner. I used to love the Korres primer but I don’t feel like it actually does anything. The Mary Kay lipgloss was surprisingly nice to use but the color I had was too sparkly but I’d be interested in trying out more of their stuff.

Tarte Maracuja C-Brighter Eye Treatment :/
Eau Thermale Avenue Skin Recovery Cream :/
ELF Undereye Concealer 🙁 – Review
L’oreal Youthcode Pore Vanisher 🙂
The Body Shop Body Butter in Ginger Sparkle 🙂

I prefer the Boscia eye cream over the Tarte one. The Tarte one is a bit thin for an eye cream I think. I really enjoyed the youth code pore vanisher, but the only thing I don’t like is that if you put too much or if you put another product on top of it too fast, it starts to rub off like dirt.Tossing

I’ve been cleaning out my makeup collection recently and really trying to slim things down. So I finally cut some more items loose.

Maybelline Moistruizing Eye Makeup Remover- Way too greasy
Blush Brush- It’s just getting rough now
CG Trublend Whipped Foundation- Been over 4 years
Stila Tinted Moisturizer- Expired in 2012

These are the makeup in the plastic bag and I’m I’m letting go of these because it’s been too long and I never reach for them.
Link me to your empties! I’d love to read it. Have you slimmed down your collection recently?

2014 Empties Part 2

Here are my empties from July and August! And I’m still slowly throwing away things too that I’m no longer using. Also, does anyone watch Makeup Graveyard from Tati on Youtube? So addicting haha! I’m only going to talk about select items, if I don’t talk about it, it’s probably meh.

Skincare

Neutrogena Cleansing Towelettes: Everyone raves about these, I did like it but I would probably only get it on sale if it’s less than $5 haha.
BBW Nourishing Hand Cream- Winter Candy Apple: Loved the scent at first but now it’s too strong! And hated it as a hand cream so used it all over my body instead.
Boscia Face Cream: This has SPF 30 so it’s a great day lotion. However, bad for my skin cause I’m very dry and this lotion seems to mattify. Would be amazing for oily girls cause this has SPF but leaves your face very dry.
Makeup

Not many makeup items this month but getting through my lipglosses 🙂
Urban Decay Mascara: Can’t remember how I liked it, read my review haha. Was hard to use in August so I think it’s just dried out now.
Stila Lip Glaze in Holly: Brightest lipgloss I’ve owned! Probably wont’ repurchase anymore stila lipglazes for a while but I love their packaging.
Tarte Lipgloss in Spence: Cute pink color! These little guys lasts me at least a month! Still have five more of them to finish haha. I do like these so far!
And two candles from BBW. I feel like they must have re done something because the candle burns a lot further down now, yay! I had the scents Aloha Waikiki and Island Waters 🙂
Tossed Out
Threw out my brush cause I got my Tangle Teezer 🙂
Tossed the blush brush from Rose Wholesale cause it’s just too scratchy.
LOVE my Revlon Calcium Gel Nail Hardener, but it’s just gloopy now.
Found a Stila lip glaze from my car a couple months ago but I think it smells weird now 🙁
Letting go of my Rimmel Quad in Urban Flower. This has been used lots!
Only four more months to try and finish my goals!

2014 Empties Part 3

It has been a whillleee for an empties post! But I have a couple items to share. Since it’s been so long, I will most likely use emoticons to give a quick review of the product.

1. Up and Up Cotton Rounds
I’m trying the more expensive one at Target and like it much better!
2. Impress Nails by Broadway Nails
See my review here. I’m liking these more and more especially for special occasions.
3. Olay Fresh Effects Makeup Removal Cloths
 Effective and is gentle.
4. Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes
The smell was a bit weird and slightly stung my eyes.
5.Crest Complete Extra Whitening
 Like it!

6. Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Shampoo
I really like this line, it makes my hair so smooth!! See review here.

Makeup / Skincare

7. Benefit Silky Finish Lipstick in Skinny Dip
One of the first nude lipsticks that I liked! See review here!

8. Tarte Maracuja Oil
I did like this, but now that I’m using lotion again, I realize how much more I like it compared to oils. I think facial oil is just not my thing.

9. OFF Spray Insect Repellents
This is a random item but this was a lifesaver in the summer months! The small portable format made it easy to toss into my purse if I was going out to the park.

10. Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Spark
This was kinda meh, nothing bad but nothing special. See review here!

11. L’Occitane Hand Cream in Subtle Violet
At first I didn’t like the scent but now I love it; it’s really sophisticated and light.

12. Urban Decay Primer Potion
One of the most hyped products in the beauty community but I don’t have oily lids or deal with creasing so I don’t see too much difference when I use it.

13. H2O Marine Calm Rescue Serum
So silky feeling, love this!

And here are a couple of things I threw away.

The Paul Mitchell hair spray makes my hair so stiff. I have two loose eyeshadows from a small company called Vicious Bakery. The products are not that bad but I can’t deal with loose products. Also throwing away an old shaving cream.
I’m throwing away a tarte lipgloss and a burt’s bees lip balm because the smell is a bit different! I’m so sad about the Tarte one because I just got it last Christmas and haven’t even used it yet.
I LOVE the Springtime in Provence candle from BBW. I actually finished burning this.
That’s it for me! Link me to your empties! Also I’ve been watching decluttering videos on youtube and it’s really fun haha. Anyone else watch them?

Please give me a vote if you like my blog 🙂

Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁 In just a few weeks, the Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁

In just a few weeks, the leaves are going to be golden red at Trout Lake!! 🤩😍. What are your favorite fall foliage spots in Vancouver?
Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤 Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤

Here are the best things I ate in Japan - restaraunt edition! (do you want to see one for snacks? or do you want to see a worst things I ate in Japan?)
Prices of the specific dish listed below.

1. Kanoko, try their special green tea infused soba or normal soba. I loved the dashi and tempura. Perfect lunch option for after visiting the tori gates. 1,300 Yen 🍜

2. Okonomiyaki Sakaba, you can pick the inside filling and a lot of the options were meat based. The sauce on top is delicious and you may be surprised the inside is mostly cabbage and not flour. 1,000 Yen🍥

3. Udon Bo Osaka, I tried out a cold dipping udon and it was excellent! They have a special yuzu sauce and the tempura is amazing too. 1,250 Yen 🍤

4. Roast Beef Ohno, the most affordable way to eat wagyu! Loved the sauces and nice side veggie dishes too. 1,750 Yen 🥓

5. Fuunji, flavorful dipping ramen with a vending machine to order! 1,400 (with egg + bamboo add on)🍱

6. Maguro Koya, holy crap I'm addicted to Ootoro now. So glad we splurged and got the double portion. We also tried the chutoro sashimi to compare cuts. 3,200 Yen 🍣

Hope this provides some delicious inspo for the best food in Japan!
Here's what I found from Ragtag in Japan!! 🤩🤩
I've definitely had my eye on a Dior piece and it's extra special that this design is a Japan exclusive.
I have to say, second hand designer shopping is a lot harder than I remembered! There are SO many stores now, I probably visited 20+ and the prices are not so cheap anymore 🤧🤧
.
A similar card holder from Dior is probably $600 CAD + tax. I got this one for ~$350 CAD. It's in excellent condition but there was no dust bag nor box.

📍 Ragtag, Shinseibashi, Osaka
We made it on the kyo-train garaku by Hankyu and I We made it on the kyo-train garaku by Hankyu and I'd highly recommend boarding this train if you're transiting between Osaka and Kyoto. ❤️‍🔥🌸
No reservations are required and the fare is just the basic fare (approximately $4!) 🚅
Check online for the most updated timetable but the most current is
9:32, 11:32, 13:32, and 15:32 leaving Osaka for Kyoto!
We showed up 30 minutes before boarding and was the first ones for car 5. Car 3 seems to be the most popular for the cherry blossoms!
