NYC Challenge: Party Look with Bold Lip

Going to New York for New Years is definitely on my to do list! But this year I guess I will settle with a party in Vancouver.

I got this NYC box right after I did my Holiday Looks Tips & Tutorial post which is too bad!. But for this NYC Challenge, the focus will be on the lips which will be different from my other look

Here are the products for this look:
-NYC HD Color Trio Eyeshadow in Central Park Plums
-NYC Sun n Bronze in Coney Island Glow
-NYC Liquid Eyeliner in Black
-NYC Ultra Moist Lipstick in Mahogany

Before Photo!

First, take your favorite foundation to provide a smooth surface. Then, use the NYC Sun n Bronze bronzing powder to warm up the face. Sweep the product in a "3" pattern on each side of your face.

Next, for the eyes take the NYC and use the middle color all over the lid. Then take the darker color and make a "v" shape on the outer part of your lid and line the bottom lash line. This will help to complete the look as it connects with the top liner. Finish off with the NYC Liquid Liner, this can create a thin line with light pressure or a heavier line if you press down more.

Lastly, swipe the NYC Ultra Moist Lipstick all over the lips. Use a q-tip to clean up any lipstick outside of your lines and ALSO you can use the q-tip to help fill in smaller areas you couldn't reach with the lipstick.

Close up!

I am in LOVE with the NYC Mahogany lipstick. It looks brown in the tube but it's this gorgeous deep plum/berry color that is so trendy for the season.

After photo!
I had to use my old camera to take this photo so sorry for the bluriness.
Makeup for some reason just doesn't show up in photos on my face!! >=(

Hope everyone have a fun and safe new years! 2014 has been a big change for my blog and I can't wait to see what 2015 will hold. Happy New Years my friends!

Use It Up! Products to Finish in 2015

Hello friends!!

After all the presents and shopping it's that time of realization again. OH SHIT why do I have so much stuff! Here's the items I've rounded up to finish in 2015! It seems like the inflow of products keep exceeding the outflow. AH!

You can see which items I wanted to use up last year here. You can also see my current progress here, but I will do an updated finalized one in the upcoming days.

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara: I bought this earlier in 2014 and have used it a bit. I liked it at the beginning but not a super big fan of it anymore. See review here

NYC Big Bold Volume Mascara: I received this in August 2014 as part of the NYC Beauty Pro program but I don't really like this one. It has the synthetic brushes which kind of scares me haha. I will just give it a couple more shots and see how I feel.

NYC HD Color Trio in Central Park Plum: I also received this through NYC in October 2014 so this is relatively new. The colors are beautiful and really easy to use for everyday.

Bare Minerals READY Eyeshadow 2.0 in the Inspiration: This mini duo is from the Beauty in Bloom set I got in April 2014. I'm not a huge fan of the colors but there's only .5g of each so I'm going to try to use it up!

Tarina Taratino Eyeliner in Broken Doll: Finally an old product! I've had this since October 2012 and have loved it since! It's harder to use up though because it's a highlighting type of color.

Kat V Don Eyeliner in Proud Peacock: Bought this one December 2013 as part of my big haul. This color is quite unique and beautiful!

The Balm Hot Mama: I realized I stopped posting hauls this year but I bought this on Hautelook in July 2014. It's a really beautiful shade but there's 7g of product so I doubt I'll even hit pan!!

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB: I looovee this! Bought it in June 2014 but it's a bit dark for me right now. So hopefully in the summer I can use this up! Review here.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer: OLDIE ALERT! This was literally one of the first high end products I've ever owned. I bought this in December 2011 and think that I've used it quite a bit but there's barely a dent! TYPICAL!

BareMinerals READY Blush in The One: This also came in the Beauty in Bloom set I got in April 2014. There's 2g of product and it's a relatively neutral shade so I'm hopeful.

I won't go into each in detail but the tarte ones are from December 2013. The Marc Jacobs and Buxom are from this year's Sephora Got lips set.

The Too Cool for School lip pencil is from Asia so around fall 2013 and lastly the Burt's Bees lipbalm which I love but haven't been using it cause I don't like my lips to tingle in the winter. HAHA is that weird?

I like all of these products and should be able to finish all with no problem!

Bare Minerals Lipstick in Speak Your Mind: This came ALSO in the beauty in bloom set haha. It's a really pretty mid toned pink.

One Direction Lipstick: The color looks so bright in the tube but it's just a tint of color. It smells sweet as well! See review here.

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in #5: I splurged on this in summer 2013 and it's so beautiful!! I can't believe I still haven't blogged about it haha. But I definitely want to use this up before it goes bad!

Etude House Shini Stars Lipbalm: Got this in Asia so November 2013 ish. Love the way this smells but don't like how I have to use my fingers.

PHEW! Thanks for sticking with me to the end. I noticed a lot of the products I picked are quite new so I might browse my collection and a couple of the older items in. I want to keep my makeup under 3 years old!

If you are doing something similar please link me so I can read it! And we can keep each other on track during the year ;)

Holiday Party Look: Tips & Tutorial

Hope everyone's December is going well! I can't believe it's almost Christmas!

Today I'm showing you a quick tutorial and some tips I have for achieving a holiday part look. This is a gold & black inspired look that I wore to my company's Christmas party afterwards. The tutorial will be brief as I find most people have different features and might not be applicable. I will share my tips and what I like to use.

Step 1: Foundation

It's super important to have a flawless canvas and I love using my Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation with my ELF Stippling brush. This foundation creates a perfect coverage without feeling cakey.

TIP: Remember to contour your face as it will add more depth in pictures ( and you know there will be tons of pictures!)

Step 2: Eyes

Once I get my foundation, bronzer, blush on then I will focus on my eyes. I try to give myself at least 30 minutes to do my eyes so I won't feel rushed. I'm using my Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow palette as I find this gives me the best selection of shades in one palette.

TIP: Use a gold cream shadow on the inner half as a base to really brighten up the eyes. In this look, I just used "Half Baked" in the palette.

TIP: Make sure to line the bottom of your eyes to soften the look and make it smokier. I start on the outside and use the darkest shade that I put on my upper lids. As I move inwards, I use the lighter colors such as the gold to also create a seamless look on the bottom.

Step 3: Lips

TIP: Use a fun bright color to liven up the look! Or choose a deep color and be winter trendy. For my lips I used the MAC Narcissus Creamsheen Lipglass.

Ta da! That's it! Hopefully these tips can help you create your holiday party look!

MEMEBOX (prounouced me-me-box) curates the best Korean products and puts together themed boxes for purchase. They are not a monthly subscription, so you pick and choose which box you want to order. I really like that flexibility option because you get the products you actually WANT!

MEMEBOX Special #42 OMG 3
How much? $23
Shipping? It took about 5 business days to receive my package which is so fast considering it came from Korea!
Theme: The weirdest, coolest, and most eye-brow raising trends in Korea!

1. On the Body Makgeolli Soap - Buy Here
85g Full Size $12

I haven't tried this soap out yet. Apparently Makgeolli is a rice wine and has benefits due to the fact that it's unfiltered. I find soap gets messy around my counter top so I haven't broken into this yet. Will update you guys on Twitter/Instagram how this goes. The soap smells nice- kind of sweet and savory.

2. Cleomee Three-Layer Perfume Donkey Oil Mist - On sale for $35
100mL Full Size $59

When I saw the words "donkey milk" I was definitely saying "OMG" as the box described. The three layers quickly melt together once shaken. It leaves a subtle but amazing scent after. The mist absorbs quite quickly and is not greasy after! It's just a personal preference that I don't like the feeling on my hands after rubbing oil in. This is a really neat concept though with cool ingredients!

3. Migabee Bee Venom & Honey Cream - Buy Here
50mL Full Size $54

This is a definite favorite from the box! The cream contains bee venom and royal jelly. I've been using this alot and it helps my dry skin stay hydrated! It also hasn't caused any sensitivities which is great. The texture of this thick but in a jelly form so it's really refreshing when you put it on your skin. A winner in my books!

4. Tonymoly Delight Tint Crayon - Buy Here
2.8g Full Size $8

This is my other favorite from this box! The color is a bright pink and the lipbalm smells really sweet and amazing! This also doesn't dry out my lips which is awesome! :) The cool thing about this product is that it's suppose to glow neon pink in the dark. Although you'll see from the swatches that the day time color is really bright already! But I guess I'll have try this next time I go out in the town ;)

5. Tosowoong Platinum Pore Tightening Pack- Buy Here
150mL Full Size $19

I realized all the masks I've used before are sheet masks! This is the first time I used a mask like this. I think this would be really good for oily skinned girls. The product is suppose to tighten pores and get rid of blackheads. When I tried it, the product gets SO tight but in a good way. You definitely feel it working and you can see little circles around your blackheads/pores. After I rinsed it off, my skin felt really smooth! I would probably use this twice a month as a repair for my skin.

Value of Products: $152
Cost: $23
This box is an INCREDIBLE value! Even though a couple of the products may not be for me, I would definitely pay more than $23 for a good facial moisturizer and a chubby pencil. Currently they only have two boxes available online but I'm definitely keeping my eye out for future boxes!

You can purchase your own MEMEBOX here :)

Let me know what Korean products you like and what subscription boxes you have?
