Hope everyone’s December is going well! I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas!
Today I’m showing you a quick tutorial and some tips I have for achieving a holiday party look. This is a gold & black inspired look that I wore to my company’s Christmas party afterwards. The tutorial will be brief as I find most people have different features and might not be applicable. I will share my tips and what I like to use.
Step 1: Foundation
It’s super important to have a flawless canvas and I love using my Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation with my ELF Stippling brush. This foundation creates a perfect coverage without feeling cakey.
TIP: Remember to contour your face as it will add more depth in pictures ( and you know there will be tons of pictures!)
Step 2: Eyes
Once I get my foundation, bronzer, blush on then I will focus on my eyes. I try to give myself at least 30 minutes to do my eyes so I won’t feel rushed. I’m using my Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow palette as I find this gives me the best selection of shades in one palette.
TIP: Use a gold cream shadow on the inner half as a base to really brighten up the eyes. In this look, I just used “Half Baked” in the palette.
TIP: Make sure to line the bottom of your eyes to soften the look and make it smokier. I start on the outside and use the darkest shade that I put on my upper lids. As I move inwards, I use the lighter colors such as the gold to also create a seamless look on the bottom.
Step 3: Lips
TIP: Use a fun bright color to liven up the look! Or choose a deep color and be winter trendy. For my lips I used the MAC Narcissus Creamsheen Lipglass.
Ta da! That’s it! Hopefully these tips can help you create your holiday party look!
