Products for Summer Time- Eau Thermale Avene, Saje, The Body Shop

July 18, 2015

Vancouver’s summer has been very surprising this year with sun almost every weekend! As we gear up for another sunny weekend, I thought I’d share some products from Saje, The Body Shop and Eau Thermale Avene that might help you during the heat!

Saje Cool Spray– 100mL $14.95
This spray has a nice and short ingredient list featuring water and a blend of essential oils (peppermint, eucalyptus, basil). You can definitely smell the peppermint and a hint of basil. I love how when this lands on your skin, it remains cool for about a minute after wards! It’s a small enough size to carry in your purse.

Saje Sun Sense- 60mL $9.95
First things first, this is only a SPF15, so this is more towards every day use than beach days when you are laying out in the sun. However, the plus side is that there’s barely any sunscreen smell! It does have a more herbal scent though typical of Saje products. It dries really fast and there’s no stickiness on the skin at all. Love the small size bottle that this comes in as well. This product is all natural which is a bonus!

The Body Shop Honey Bronze Tinted Leg Mist– 125mL $20
This mist helps to add color to your body. There’s a nice scent and the product is not oily at all. It also dries down in seconds so you don’t need to wait very long before getting dressed. I think this definitely does work but it stains the palms of my hands a little bit! It’s also only temporary so those are the two downsides. However, this would be good if you need a quick fix.

Eau Thermale Avene

Back in March, I attended an event held by Eau Thermale Avene where they talked about their summer launches. They have a high protection range of sunscreen specially formulated for skin thats: sensitive to the sun, fair and pale, prone to sunburn, exposed to intense sunlight.

I don’t usually have any reactions to normal sunscreen  and I don’t burn too often so the usually cheaper sunscreen works for me. However, if you are easily burned, these might be great products! It’s cool that these are all infused with the Avene Thermal Spring Water (that spray bottle).

Eau Thermale Avene High Protection Spray- $32.5
I’ve been using this sunscreen when I play sports and really like it. It’s not a continuous spray so unfortunately you need to rub it in. But it doesn’t leave any stickiness and the scent is not very strong. It’s great for men and children as well.

Eau Thermale Avene High Protection Lotion- $29
I’ve been using this on my face and really enjoy it too. The formula is very liquidy so I only use a small amount to cover my face. It works great under makeup too. I can’t believe how thin the formula is as it’s a SPF50 protection. Really awesome if you are prone to sunburns but hate thick sunscreen.

Eau Thermale Avene Very High Protection Mineral Lotion- $30
This is a product that I haven’t been loving too much. The formula of this is thicker and leaves a strong white cast. However, this is made for intolerant skin, so if you have trouble wearing other types of sunscreen, this could work for you! This product is made without chemical filters and uses minerals instead. Unfortunately, I won’t be reaching for this one too much.

Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁 In just a few weeks, the Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁

In just a few weeks, the leaves are going to be golden red at Trout Lake!! 🤩😍. What are your favorite fall foliage spots in Vancouver?
Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤 Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤

Here are the best things I ate in Japan - restaraunt edition! (do you want to see one for snacks? or do you want to see a worst things I ate in Japan?)
Prices of the specific dish listed below.

1. Kanoko, try their special green tea infused soba or normal soba. I loved the dashi and tempura. Perfect lunch option for after visiting the tori gates. 1,300 Yen 🍜

2. Okonomiyaki Sakaba, you can pick the inside filling and a lot of the options were meat based. The sauce on top is delicious and you may be surprised the inside is mostly cabbage and not flour. 1,000 Yen🍥

3. Udon Bo Osaka, I tried out a cold dipping udon and it was excellent! They have a special yuzu sauce and the tempura is amazing too. 1,250 Yen 🍤

4. Roast Beef Ohno, the most affordable way to eat wagyu! Loved the sauces and nice side veggie dishes too. 1,750 Yen 🥓

5. Fuunji, flavorful dipping ramen with a vending machine to order! 1,400 (with egg + bamboo add on)🍱

6. Maguro Koya, holy crap I'm addicted to Ootoro now. So glad we splurged and got the double portion. We also tried the chutoro sashimi to compare cuts. 3,200 Yen 🍣

Hope this provides some delicious inspo for the best food in Japan!
Here's what I found from Ragtag in Japan!! 🤩🤩
I've definitely had my eye on a Dior piece and it's extra special that this design is a Japan exclusive.
I have to say, second hand designer shopping is a lot harder than I remembered! There are SO many stores now, I probably visited 20+ and the prices are not so cheap anymore 🤧🤧
.
A similar card holder from Dior is probably $600 CAD + tax. I got this one for ~$350 CAD. It's in excellent condition but there was no dust bag nor box.

📍 Ragtag, Shinseibashi, Osaka
We made it on the kyo-train garaku by Hankyu and I We made it on the kyo-train garaku by Hankyu and I'd highly recommend boarding this train if you're transiting between Osaka and Kyoto. ❤️‍🔥🌸
No reservations are required and the fare is just the basic fare (approximately $4!) 🚅
Check online for the most updated timetable but the most current is
9:32, 11:32, 13:32, and 15:32 leaving Osaka for Kyoto!
We showed up 30 minutes before boarding and was the first ones for car 5. Car 3 seems to be the most popular for the cherry blossoms!
