2015 Empties

October 22, 2015

Welcome to 2015 Empties! I’m really excited to be using stuff up as I did a makeup inventory count at the end of 2014 so I’ll be able to track my progress!
Non- Makeup

Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Conditioner 🙂 – Review Love this and would definitely consider repurchasing, it makes my hair nice and soft!

Up & Up Cotton Rounds Professional 🙂 – Does the job and it’s cheap! I always repurchase.

Colgate Total Toothpaste :/ – Meh. I’m using sensodyne now and I love that it foams up much more.

Bath and Body Works Leaves Candle 🙂 – One of my favorite fall scents!

Olay Fresh Effects Makeup Removal Cloths :/ – Meh it was okay but prefer my ELF ones which are actually cheaper.

David’s Tea in Forever Nuts, Toasted Walnut, Glitter & Gold, Coco Chai Rooibos: I liked all except for the coco chai but I’m not a big chai drinker.

Seabuckthorn Therapeutic Peppermint Shampoo & Conditioner :/ – It was really refreshing but the mint stinged my eyes.

Makeup

Marc Jacobs Lust for Laquer Lipgloss :)- Review Love this! Made my lips super shiny and lustrous looking.

Mac Sheen Supreme in Look at Her 🙂 – Review  This was a pretty unique shade and I like the formula of sheen supremes.

Tarte Maracuja Lipgloss in Lizzy :/ – Review It was okay, nothing too special but nothing I disliked.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara :/- Not as a big of a fan of this as other people. It separated my lashes well but didn’t add too much volume or oomph.

Other

Boscia Tsubaki Beauty Oil :)- Review This was pretty good in terms of an oil, but I think I prefer my lotions. See my review of the Bioderma line as that’s what I’m currently using.

EOS Hand Cream 🙂 – The packaging is adorable and I loved the scent. The consistency is much thinner than what I’m used to, but overall great hand cream.

Throwing away a blue Annabelle eyeliner, Lancome Juicy Tube pop, and an NYC lipstick that broke.

Link me to your empties and I will go give it a read 🙂 I’m currently working through a bunch of skincare and hopefully will also have more makeup items to show too!

Hello! It’s time for empties again! These are items I used from March-May 2015. There’s a couple makeup products in here as well as a bunch of tea!

Tea

David’s Tea
I was a huge fan of the Orange Blossom, Sleigh Ride, and Long Life Oolong! I would definitely repurchase any of those three. The three tester packs were just okay, I wouldn’t repurchase any of those: Forever Nuts, Coffee Pu’erh, Chocolate Rocket.

I love the Tea Filters that come in sets. It has a draw string bag so you can be sure the tea stays inside.

Teavanna- Dragonfruit,it was just okay. Was a bit too fruity and not enough tea.

Makeup

BareMinerals Lipstick in Speak your Mind :(- This pink color was just not that flattering on me. Hauled this a year ago.

Nivea Pure & Natural 🙂 – Really easy to use lip balm that was moisturizing. I bought this last summer and used it almost every night.

Skin79 BB Diamond :/ – One of the heavier coverage BB creams but the color is a bit pale. I bought this in December 2013 but only took about 10-15 uses to finish.

Bioderma Repair Hand Cream :)- Really liked this as a handcream- See review here, it has grown on me since the review. Took about two months to finish this.

Mini Bebe Hand Cream 🙂 – Also really liked this, smelled like lime which was quite unique. Took about a month to finish this.

Others

Sunsilk Straighten Up Creme :)- This helped my hair stay more styled, hard to explain but it helped my bangs just look better. I’ve had this for at least 4 or 5 years but didn’t really use it for much of it.
H2O+ Balancing Toner :)- Enjoyed this toner, did not smell like much but hydrates and comforts my skin. It took about 4 months of use to finish this (not daily).

Finished off a floss, toothpaste, cotton rounds, and tossing this vitamin A cream.

What have you finished in your empties? I tried to add in how long it took me to finish each product as that’s something I’m often curious about!

Who doesn’t like to keep trash around and then talk about it? It’s seriously one of my favorite things to watch and read so here’s what I’ve been stashing since my last empties post in May 2015.
Pantene Pro-V Ultimate 10 Shampoo– 🙁 formula was a bit thick and made my hair dirty fast
Lush Rose Jam Shower Gel– 🙂 YUMMY
Lush Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner- :/ smells good but I don’t really get what it’s suppose to do
ELF Makeup remover Cleansing Clothes- 🙂 LOVE and it’s only $3- Review
Boscia Makeup Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil- 🙂 Was my favorite before DHC deep cleansing oil but still really good- Review
Laneige Blackhead Pore Strip- 🙂 I used to think this didn’t work but recently used it and my nose was SO smooth after

Maybelline Great Lash Curved- 🙂 Had this forever and it works quite well. This is part of my Finish Five by Fall so a bit of a spoiler here. Review.
Tarte Lip Gloss in Finn- :/ Nice pigmentation but the color wasn’t that flattering on me.
Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer- :/ I like this one over other silicon primers as this one feels more like a moisturizer. But I don’t use primers that much and can’t tell significant difference on effects.
David’s Tea Detox- 🙁 Tasted like ginger and lemongrass and I dislike ginger very much
David’s Tea Japanese Sencha- :/  The taste was pretty boring, and usually I expect more unique flavors from David’s Tea
David’s Tea Alpine Punch- :/ it was okay, kind of nutty with a hint of apple, probably better during holiday season
Purgo Tea 14 Day Program- :/ okay tasting and helped me be healthier! See full review here
Salt Spring Island Candle- Hearth- 🙂 LOVE this smell. But the wick was a bit too big and brought up too much smoke. Review here
Salt Spring Island Candle- Yoga- :/ This was unique and smells like incense a little bit.

Here are some items I’m getting rid of:  fruits & passion body cream (5 yrs old already ew), Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant (I used to really like this but it hardened), Covergirl trublend whipped foundation, 2 brushes and 3 nail polishes (The NYC one is AMAZING).
Do you do empties posts? Let me know and I’ll go give it a read!
My last empties was in July so I have a ton of stuff to share in this post. It feels so good to finally dump everything that I’ve finished. I’m quite motivated to finish up a couple more items so I can splurge a little during the holiday season.
Makeup

Atoderm Moisturizing Stick 🙂 – Lovely lip balm. Thin texture but hydrating! See review.
Too Faced Better than Sex :/- Better than when I first tried it but it still flakes. Gives big big lashes though!
NYC Big Bold Curl Mascara 🙂 – A fantastic drugstore option, see review.
SBT Lip Balm 🙁 – I received this from SBT, but this lip balm is way too soft and oily*The two mascaras are from my Make it By Christmas challenge*

Throwaway

I’m tossing two top coats that have gone gloopy: Julep Freedom and Seche Vite (my absolute favorite). There’s a dried Sephora Smoky Cream Liner that was actually pretty good and an ELF lip exfoliator that’s smelling funny. I’m also tossing two bracelets and I thought I’d throw it into the photo.
Tea

David’s Tea Filters :)- Love these, it makes drinking loose leaf tea so much easier.
David’s Tea Santa’s Secret :)- Yummy peppermint black tea
Tea Desire Morning Spirit :)- Got this at a Tea Sparrow event and seriously one of my favorite green teas now! It has a hint of mango!
*Accidentally included the Purgo Teatox again*

Cleansing Wipes

Cetaphil :)- Moist and so portable. These are in a 10 pack, would definitely recommend!
Simple 🙂
Covergirl Clean :(- Didn’t work very well
Freshfaced :(- Surprisingly doesn’t take off makeup that well.
Quo Cotton Pads 🙂 – Does not feather, really great!
Hair & Body
Garnier Passion Splash Shampoo :/- More of a clarifying shampoo to use every week
Pantene Ultimate 10 Conditioner :(- Felt too heavy
Contact solution and eyedrops- make sure you check your expiry dates!
*realized the Rose Jam was in my empties basket again because I was saving the container, whoops*
Kiss Nail Dress in Double Lutz :/ – Loved the design, application is inconsistent
Olay Body Wash :)- So silky and feels amazing.
L’Oreal Fibralogy :(- Already have thick hair so didn’t want to get even more volume
The Body Shop Mango Hand Cream :)- Light texture and delicious scent
Bliss Triple Oxygen Cream :)- Love this so much! Moisturizing and smells greatt!
Nivea Inshower Body Lotion :/Let me know what you’ve used up recently?

So much fun comparing and contrasting mascaras!! T So much fun comparing and contrasting mascaras!! The lancome hypnose mascara has won me over 😍
.
Which one do you like?
Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁 In just a few weeks, the Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁

In just a few weeks, the leaves are going to be golden red at Trout Lake!! 🤩😍. What are your favorite fall foliage spots in Vancouver?
Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤 Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤

Here are the best things I ate in Japan - restaraunt edition! (do you want to see one for snacks? or do you want to see a worst things I ate in Japan?)
Prices of the specific dish listed below.

1. Kanoko, try their special green tea infused soba or normal soba. I loved the dashi and tempura. Perfect lunch option for after visiting the tori gates. 1,300 Yen 🍜

2. Okonomiyaki Sakaba, you can pick the inside filling and a lot of the options were meat based. The sauce on top is delicious and you may be surprised the inside is mostly cabbage and not flour. 1,000 Yen🍥

3. Udon Bo Osaka, I tried out a cold dipping udon and it was excellent! They have a special yuzu sauce and the tempura is amazing too. 1,250 Yen 🍤

4. Roast Beef Ohno, the most affordable way to eat wagyu! Loved the sauces and nice side veggie dishes too. 1,750 Yen 🥓

5. Fuunji, flavorful dipping ramen with a vending machine to order! 1,400 (with egg + bamboo add on)🍱

6. Maguro Koya, holy crap I'm addicted to Ootoro now. So glad we splurged and got the double portion. We also tried the chutoro sashimi to compare cuts. 3,200 Yen 🍣

Hope this provides some delicious inspo for the best food in Japan!
Here's what I found from Ragtag in Japan!! 🤩🤩
I've definitely had my eye on a Dior piece and it's extra special that this design is a Japan exclusive.
I have to say, second hand designer shopping is a lot harder than I remembered! There are SO many stores now, I probably visited 20+ and the prices are not so cheap anymore 🤧🤧
.
A similar card holder from Dior is probably $600 CAD + tax. I got this one for ~$350 CAD. It's in excellent condition but there was no dust bag nor box.

📍 Ragtag, Shinseibashi, Osaka
