Valentine’s Day Dessert Options in Vancouver

February 1, 2016

The holiday season has just ended but it’s now only 2 weeks before it’s Valentine’s Day. I thought I’d skip the dinner recommendations and introduce some other options for Valentine’s Day. These dessert joints will be sweet (literally & figuratively ;)) and much lighter on the wallet!

I’ve selected establishments throughout the city so you can find a great spot near you! Also, all of these places have seating so you can take your time chatting to your loved ones and enjoying these treats.

1) Mosquito Dessert
Gastown
Zomato– 3.0

This new dessert and champagne bar opened in Gastown and is the hippest place for after dinner. This is the most upscale option in my list. I thought the concept was so unique and would be a romantic spot on Valentine’s Day!

On Feb 14th, they will be having a special menu for $38 per person that includes: champagne, cheese plate, raspberry violet, warm chocolate tart, and your choice of chocolate/macaron!

2) Glenburn Soda Fountain & Confectionary
North Burnaby- Hastings and Boundary
Zomato– 4.7

For a blast of the past, check out this ice cream shop with a vintage feel. They specialize in sodas, floats, and sundaes and is one of the best ice cream shops in Vancouver! They open until 8pm on Sunday.

For Valentine’s day, they are taking inspiration from Italy and will feature 5 special sundaes that will be available Feb 9-14. Also, check them out on Instagram as they’ll be giving away a private dessert for two + a flower bouquet to one lucky couple!

3) Yavis Club Cafe
Central Richmond-Westminster & No.3 Road
Zomato– 3.2

This place features different flavors of cheesecakes as well complementing tea with an Asian twist. The restaurant is spacious and quite clean! If you are in the Richmond area, make sure to check out this place. I’m not a fan of New York cheesecakes, so get their mousse cheesecakes which are yummy too! They will be having a special on February 14th where you can choose any two desserts and two drinks for only $15.75! Sweet deal!

4) Thomas Haas
Kitsilano- Broadway and Arbutus
Zomato– 4.4

For a good chat and delicious chocolate and sweets, check out Thomas Haas. The store is not normally open on Sundays but will be open until 530pm on the 14th just to celebrate Valentine’s Day!

Do you have Valentine’s Day plans already? For a special occasion, check out the TWG tasting menus. Also be sure to stay up to date with what’s new in Vancouver!

Here's what I found from Ragtag in Japan!! 🤩🤩
I've definitely had my eye on a Dior piece and it's extra special that this design is a Japan exclusive.
I have to say, second hand designer shopping is a lot harder than I remembered! There are SO many stores now, I probably visited 20+ and the prices are not so cheap anymore 🤧🤧
.
A similar card holder from Dior is probably $600 CAD + tax. I got this one for ~$350 CAD. It's in excellent condition but there was no dust bag nor box.

📍 Ragtag, Shinseibashi, Osaka
We made it on the kyo-train garaku by Hankyu and I We made it on the kyo-train garaku by Hankyu and I'd highly recommend boarding this train if you're transiting between Osaka and Kyoto. ❤️‍🔥🌸
No reservations are required and the fare is just the basic fare (approximately $4!) 🚅
Check online for the most updated timetable but the most current is
9:32, 11:32, 13:32, and 15:32 leaving Osaka for Kyoto!
We showed up 30 minutes before boarding and was the first ones for car 5. Car 3 seems to be the most popular for the cherry blossoms!
Forget your eyeshadow palettes! This little single Forget your eyeshadow palettes! This little single eyeshadow from merit is all I need! 💚
I've been using this a lot on my vacation and it stays on amazingly well all day even with the humidity.
I went for a more unique shade but all the basic browns and neutrals are available too!
.
Would you swap your current eyeshadow for this?
