Burt's Bees is synonymous with holy grail lip balm for me. I've also tried their tinted lip balms and shimmer lip balms and loved them all! They released lip crayons about 2 years ago but this is the first time I'm trying them. The first thing I noticed is that it's 100% natural which is such an amazing feat.
Name: Burt's Bees Lip Crayon
Shade: 6 shades available
Available at local drugstores and online at Burt's Bees
Formula: The product contains Shea Butter and Jojoba Oil with Castor Seed oil being the first ingredient. You should definitely take a look at the ingredient list if you are interested in natural products.
The color goes on smoothly and has medium pigmentation. It's suppose to be a matte lip crayon but it has a bit of a sheen so it doesn't look flat at all! While it's not hydrating it doesn't feel drying either. When worn, the product feels super lightweight and I often forget I have anything on.
Hawaiian Smolder 429: First up is a cool toned pink. I find pinks don't normally look good on me but I'm quite happy with this one. I think it's a fun color to brighten up a neutral makeup look! Also the formulation makes the color more wearable every day so I'd say this is totally appropriate for the office and school.
Niagara Overlook 41: In the packaging, it looks like a rosy pink but it actually comes off on my lips as a peachy coral! I don't actually own a lot of colors like this but it's the color is very understated and pulls the look together. This would be great if you are lighter skinned!
I also have the shade Sedona Sands but somehow lost it between photographing this and when it was time to do swatches. But this color is a classic beige/nude.
Total: 36/40 A
From top to bottom: Sedona Sands, Hawaiian Smolder, Niagara Overlook
The product wasn't mind blowing but it did it's job well. Both colors I tried were very flattering and the formula is comfortable to wear on the lips! If natural products are important to you, I'd definitely recommend these! Otherwise, these are very good but not must haves.
