Urban Decay is one of my favorite high end brands and the Naked palette and the Naked foundation are two of my holy grail items! I’ve heard tons of hype about the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer so I bought this last year when I wanted to experiment with new concealers.Β On a side note, have you heard about Urban Decay’s new store in Metrotown?! It’s the first free standing store in Canada so be sure to check it out if you are shopping at Metrotown.
Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer
The product retails for $35CAD (I feel like I bought mine for $28 maybe before the conversion rate increase) and has 5mL of product. It sounds like very little product but you only need a couple dots so this will last you a long time. There’s a total of 11 shades available.
The formula is extremely creamy and smooth. It almost has a plushy feel to it. But it dries down pretty fast and won’t leave you with a tacky finish. I have the shade Medium Light neutral which I thought was a great match for 4.0 in the Urban Decay Naked Foundation range. The formula is meant to be full coverage but with a weightless feel. I definitely think this is true as the coverage is medium with one layer and can be built up.
Swatches
The formula slightly oxidizes when I’m swatching it but I do not notice this when applied underneath my eyes.
I know tons of people rave about this. but I haven’t been that impressed with it. It really does everything it claims and the formula feels fantastically smooth and luxurious. But the final effect once applied just doesn’t wow me. If you saw my previous post with the Almay Concealer, the before and after had a noticable difference. I didn’t find this to be the case with the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer.
Before concealer
After concealer
It definitely does cover up the circles but it doesn’t brighten or make me feel “magical” as so many other people have claimed. Maybe the shade I chose is not the right fit but I just can’t get on board especially now with the price hike. I still LOVE my Urban Decay Naked skin foundation as I’ve never tried another foundation that provides such a smooth canvas while feeling weightless. But this concealer unfortunately didn’t blow me away. I’ll happily use this up but this was not worth the hype for me.
What are your thoughts on this concealer? Do you have recommendations on your favorite?
EDIT: I took this with me on my trip to Cuba and LOVED it when I was there. My skin was a lot less dry due to the humidity and this concealer went on much better! Therefore, I think it’s my dry skin that makes me not love this concealer at home. But if you have oilier skin, I can see why people obsess over this!
