Forever 21 Haul- Fall Fashion under $100

November 7, 2016

Recently I won a $100 gift card to Metrotown from Modern Mix Van. I wanted to get some new fall fashion pieces and decided to shop the sale at Forever 21! At Metrotown, the Forever 21 sale section is a mess! Items are so squished that you can’t even move anything around. I quickly gave up and bought a gift card to spend the rest of my money online. Check out my Forever 21 haul and also the lesson I learned about online shopping!

F21 Canada Shipping

I made my order on October 20th and received these items on October 26th which is pretty good in terms of shipping time. I was able to find a ton of good deals! So with my $100, I bought 1 dress, 1 blazer, 1 skirt, 5 tops, and 2 necklaces! However, the bad part is, out of everything I ordered online, I was only happy with 1 top and 2 necklaces. So let’s take a look at what I got!

Tops

Paisley Off-the-Shoulder Top
I was super excited to find this off the shoulder top as I wanted to wear it with a choker! I only notice now that the arm holes are so low in the model photo. The print is amazing but the fit wasn’t great. Also the top was a LOT more cropped than I thought it was. I guess they paired it with high waisted jeans which I didn’t realize.
Floral Strappy-Back Top
One of my main goals was to find a top to wear underneath one of my forest green cardigans. This top I actually really like and the color combo works out great! I tried it on in stores so I knew it would fit!
Stripe Print Crop Top
I wanted a simple striped top that I can wear under many different colored cardigans. Again, I think I got tricked by the high waisted shorts and didn’t realize how cropped this top is! I wanted to wear this for work but it will only be worn for going out instead.

Skirts & Dresses

Contemporary Buttoned Skirt
Okay, how cool does she look?! I thought this skirt would be so cute with a cream sweater or dress shirt. But it doesn’t fit me as it’s a bit too big around the waist. The model is wearing a Small and I ordered an XS, there’s no way that I’m bigger than this model?! It just doesn’t make any sense!
Striped Mock-Neck Shift Dress
Right when I saw this dress, I knew I wanted it. The color combination is just so cool and classic! The quality was actually even nicer than I expected and was a thick soft cotton fabric. However, I did not expect the dress to be SO SHORT! Now that I tried it on, I can see that it’s super short on the model too but when I was buying it, I just figured she was tall and that it’d be a normal length on me. Sadly, I will only be able to wear this as a tunic.

Blazer

Abstract Print Crepe Blazer
Isn’t this printed blazer amazing looking?! I feel prints like this make the piece of clothing look really expensive. However the fit just wasn’t there. The shoulders were so far out but this wasn’t suppose to be an oversized look.

Accessories

I ordered this faux gemstone necklace for a simple accessory. I was lacking necklaces that were short with a bit more detail so this fits the bill perfectly. It is no longer for sale but here is an alternative.

Chokers are so in right now! And I wanted to get in the trend with something pretty classic and easy to match with anything. This one features an iridescent stone with a black faux suede string. There are literally so many different choices though! I will probably be getting more!

And here are the two top I bought when I was shopping in stores. I’m obsessed with the faux suede top!

So although a couple of the items didn’t work out for me, I’m super happy with the rest of the items. I feel like I got to dabble a bit into current season trendy pieces as well as get a couple more classic items. And all this was only $100! Now I feel pretty shopped out and probably won’t be tempted by any sales until boxing day!

TLDR: If you shop online, make sure there’s an exchange policy! It doesn’t matter how good the sale is, if it doesn’t fit or doesn’t look good in person, it is wasted money! But accessories are always a good bet when buying online. And make sure you sign up for Forever 21’s email to get extra 10% off.

Here's what I found from Ragtag in Japan!! 🤩🤩
I've definitely had my eye on a Dior piece and it's extra special that this design is a Japan exclusive.
I have to say, second hand designer shopping is a lot harder than I remembered! There are SO many stores now, I probably visited 20+ and the prices are not so cheap anymore 🤧🤧
.
A similar card holder from Dior is probably $600 CAD + tax. I got this one for ~$350 CAD. It's in excellent condition but there was no dust bag nor box.

No reservations are required and the fare is just the basic fare (approximately $4!) 🚅

We showed up 30 minutes before boarding and was the first ones for car 5. Car 3 seems to be the most popular for the cherry blossoms!

I've been using this a lot on my vacation and it stays on amazingly well all day even with the humidity.
I went for a more unique shade but all the basic browns and neutrals are available too!

Would you swap your current eyeshadow for this?
