Quo Holiday Collection Preview

December 5, 2016

It’s officially December and only 20 days away from Christmas! To continue the holiday gift posts, I bring you a preview of the Quo holiday collection that is now available at Shoppers Drug Mart! They actually have over 20 different gift sets available and would be a great option for beauty lovers in your life!

Luxury Lipstick Wardrobe Set

The outside packaging had a pretty gold and red design as well as raised embroidery. It had a very festive feeling but also elegant as well! The first gift set I have is the Luxury Lipstick Wardrobe set. This retails for $30 and contains 4 full size lipsticks!

Each of the lipsticks is in a rose gold casing. They all have a matte finish and a very light texture! The shades all have medium pigmentation except the red which is a bright pop of color!

There is a nice variety of shades in this lipstick set and contains the four most common colors a woman would want in lipsticks. The quality is surprisingly good. It is very comfy to wear! The two lightest shades aren’t that flattering on me as usual. But if your lips are less pigmented, all 4 shades are awesome! Perfect gift set for any lip color lovers!

Soft Focus Highlighting Palette

Next we have the Soft Focus Highlighting Palette ($30). At first I thought it was going to be an Hourglass dupe! I’ve heard so many great things about the Hourglass powders but never splurged on one. There are three skin like tones in this palette and it comes with 2 brushes!
The outside of the casing looks to be plain black but if you tilt it in sunlight, this pretty floral pattern is actually designed! It adds a bit more festive flair!
So the 3 shades have slightly different tones: beige, cream, and golden. However, all of them have fine glitter in the powder so this would not be used all over the face. I actually don’t really get this product as it’s not shimmery enough for a highlight but it’s too glittery to use all over the face for a “soft focus”. Unfortunately this one was a dud for me.

Ready-Set-Travel Brush Set

Lastly we have this Ready-Set-Travel brush set ($17). I’m always happy to get more makeup brushes as it means less frequent washing #lazy. The four brushes are shorter sized and fit inside the canister so you can take it with you for travel.
The powder brush is quite dense and would be a nice blush brush as well. My favorite blush is the crease blending brush! I actually didn’t have a brush this fluffy before and it makes a HUGE difference when I try to apply a transition shade. I found this to give me such a soft blended out look and I’ve been using it every day! The packaging makes it super convenient too so I’d highly recommend this one.

Quo actually has over 27 items in their holiday collection available ranging from $5-$100! Some other items that really caught my eye are the Lip Gloss Bar ($20 for 8 mini lip glosses),  Eye Shadow Contour Set ($25), and the Roll and Go Brush Set ($49 for 10 brushes).

Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁 In just a few weeks, the Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁

In just a few weeks, the leaves are going to be golden red at Trout Lake!! 🤩😍. What are your favorite fall foliage spots in Vancouver?
Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤 Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤

Here are the best things I ate in Japan - restaraunt edition! (do you want to see one for snacks? or do you want to see a worst things I ate in Japan?)
Prices of the specific dish listed below.

1. Kanoko, try their special green tea infused soba or normal soba. I loved the dashi and tempura. Perfect lunch option for after visiting the tori gates. 1,300 Yen 🍜

2. Okonomiyaki Sakaba, you can pick the inside filling and a lot of the options were meat based. The sauce on top is delicious and you may be surprised the inside is mostly cabbage and not flour. 1,000 Yen🍥

3. Udon Bo Osaka, I tried out a cold dipping udon and it was excellent! They have a special yuzu sauce and the tempura is amazing too. 1,250 Yen 🍤

4. Roast Beef Ohno, the most affordable way to eat wagyu! Loved the sauces and nice side veggie dishes too. 1,750 Yen 🥓

5. Fuunji, flavorful dipping ramen with a vending machine to order! 1,400 (with egg + bamboo add on)🍱

6. Maguro Koya, holy crap I'm addicted to Ootoro now. So glad we splurged and got the double portion. We also tried the chutoro sashimi to compare cuts. 3,200 Yen 🍣

Hope this provides some delicious inspo for the best food in Japan!
Here's what I found from Ragtag in Japan!! 🤩🤩
I've definitely had my eye on a Dior piece and it's extra special that this design is a Japan exclusive.
I have to say, second hand designer shopping is a lot harder than I remembered! There are SO many stores now, I probably visited 20+ and the prices are not so cheap anymore 🤧🤧
.
A similar card holder from Dior is probably $600 CAD + tax. I got this one for ~$350 CAD. It's in excellent condition but there was no dust bag nor box.
