Ofina Jewelry Review + Giveaway

April 23, 2017

I love dainty jewelry, especially if there’s meaning behind them! However, I have a surprising amount of trouble finding designs I like and sizes that fit from stores in the mall. Today, I want to share some of the cutest designs from Ofina Jewelry and a chance for you to win one of the items shown!

This line is created by Liza Anongchanya and each piece is handcrafted in her studio in San Francisco! Most of her pieces are plated gold which helps to keep the cost low while still wearing gold against your skin.

I found the general vibe of the collection to be trendy and delicate which is right up my alley! Recently, I’ve been loving the story of the evil eye and the Hamsa in jewelry. The Hand of Fatima (or Hamsa) is used as a sign of protection in many times throughout history to provide defense against the evil eye. The evil eye is believed to be a curse cast by a malevolent glare which will cause misfortune or injury. I have been really drawn to this as I wanted to avoid judgement and “evil looks” from other people.

The necklace ($75) I chose is in a gorgeous 14k rose gold fill with a Hamsa hand as the pendant. The hand is also plated with rose gold over sterling silver and decorated with cubic zirconia which gives off a ton of sparkle. Since it’s so delicate, I feel like I can wear this with most of my every day outfits!

Similarly for the bracelet ($58), I also chose one with a talisman that would protect against the evil eye. The bracelet features a dainty 14k gold fill chain and it feels very weightless. There are beads spaced out on the chain to add more design. The evil eye piece itself is a gold plating over sterling silver with cubic zirconia.  This style comes in silver and gold and would layer really well with watches or other bracelets.

Lastly, I’ve been dying to try out the ear jacket style earrings ($68) for a long time! These type of earrings make it look like you have a semi circle hanging below your ear lobe. I think it’s so cool. My ears are normally very sensitive and I haven’t been wearing earrings for a year so I was very impressed that I didn’t have any reaction to these. These are made from sterling silver with cubic zirconia.

Here's what I found from Ragtag in Japan!! 🤩🤩
I've definitely had my eye on a Dior piece and it's extra special that this design is a Japan exclusive.
I have to say, second hand designer shopping is a lot harder than I remembered! There are SO many stores now, I probably visited 20+ and the prices are not so cheap anymore 🤧🤧
.
A similar card holder from Dior is probably $600 CAD + tax. I got this one for ~$350 CAD. It's in excellent condition but there was no dust bag nor box.

📍 Ragtag, Shinseibashi, Osaka

No reservations are required and the fare is just the basic fare (approximately $4!) 🚅
Check online for the most updated timetable but the most current is
9:32, 11:32, 13:32, and 15:32 leaving Osaka for Kyoto!
We showed up 30 minutes before boarding and was the first ones for car 5. Car 3 seems to be the most popular for the cherry blossoms!
Forget your eyeshadow palettes! This little single Forget your eyeshadow palettes! This little single eyeshadow from merit is all I need! 💚
I've been using this a lot on my vacation and it stays on amazingly well all day even with the humidity.
I went for a more unique shade but all the basic browns and neutrals are available too!

Would you swap your current eyeshadow for this?
