Kiss New York Professional Dead Sexy Mascara Review

September 26, 2017

Today I have another mascara review from Kiss New York Professional which just launched at London Drugs! I really enjoy reviewing mascaras as you can see objectively how it lengthens in photos and most people want the same things in a mascara- big long clump free lashes! This makes it easier than say reviewing lipsticks when people desire different things.
Basics
Name: Kiss New York Professional Dead Sexy Mascara- Lengthening & Define
Shade: Blackest Black (2 shades)
Price: 12.49
Size: 13g
Available at London Drugs
I’m a big fan of Kiss lashes and their press on nails, so I was very interested in seeing their full makeup line. Although they are affiliated, the Kiss New York Professional is a completely different brand with their own image. Their motto is #beyourownpro and offers a complete selection of shades Β so you can create bold looks.
This Kiss Dead Sexy Mascara is meant for lengthening and defining so I guess I should have known it wouldn’t create the biggest lashes. But I’ve always wondered why someone would purposely use a mascara that wouldn’t give the biggest impact.
The packaging is in a very simple black tube similar to all their other Kiss products. They are definitely going for a makeup artist look with a black and white color scheme.
The brush head of the Kiss Dead Sexy Mascara is flexible, as you can see in the photo above. I find this helps me to really get in the lashes and wiggle the brush around. However, I’m not as big of a fan of rubber bristles, I find they just end up poking me. The brush has a ball tip at the end for getting in the corners and also separating. I’m starting to see this as a common trend in mascaras nowadays!

The Kiss Dead Sexy Mascara definitely did a good job defining! I would have wanted a bit more length as well but I found that my lashes dried crunchy so it was hard to put on a second coat. It didn’t quite give me the really big lashes I was hoping for, but it is decent for every day.
However, the price is a lot higher than other drugstore mascaras that could do a comparable job. I’m also okay with paying more for a product if it has a luxurious factor or really cool packaging which unfortunately is not true for this product.
Mascara RatingsΒ
Big lashes: 3/5
Blackness: 5/5
No clumping: 5/5
No flaking/smudging: 4/5
Lashes feel fluffy: 4/5
Value: 3/5
Overall 24/30 Β  Β B
As you can see, it still did a decent job and my lashes look quite good! However, I think there are better options at the drugstore for slightly less, or you can spend a bit more for a luxurious experience. The price point is kind of stuck in the middle but without the results to show for it.
