Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation Review- 320 Bisque W

October 26, 2017

It’s taken me so long to review this foundation as I’ve been waiting for my skin to get dark enough to match with this shade. But I somehow missed it during the summer so now it’s too dark for me again, whoops! I’ve never tried Lancome foundations before but have heard great things! The Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation is a full coverage foundation with SPF 15 protection!

Basics

Name: Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear
Shade: 18 Shades on Sephora, 40 on Lancome
Price: $56
Size: 30mL
Available at Sephora and Lancome

Packaging

Lancome packaging is usually pretty classic and the Teint Idole Ultra Foundation is no exception. The glass jar feels hefty and has a pretty frosted look to justify the luxury price tag. The cap closes down sturdy which is great for travel and has the Lancome logo on top. I always love foundations with a pump as it keeps the product inside clean. However, the packaging is a bit boring in my mind but may appeal to a more classic demographic.

Side note: My packaging is the older Lancome Teint Idole 24H which is now renamed to Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear. But the formula and product is the same!

Shade

I selected 320 Bisque W as the description was medium skin with warm/yellow undertones. It definitely is very warm and although I can see the yellow undertone, I feel like the warmth overpowers it and ends up looking a bit pink. For the new re-release in 2017, Lancome came out with new shades so there is now a total of 40 shades to suit all skin tones!

Formula

I don’t typically wear full coverage foundation except for special events and when I want to do a lot of contouring for photos. Although this foundation provides full coverage, it actually feels very comfortable to wear and dries down to a velvety matte finish. It doesn’t stay tacky on the skin for very long which I enjoy. The formula is pretty creamy and actually feels hydrating when blended into the skin. I also like that it has SPF15 so it gives a bit of sun protection as I’m way too lazy to wear sunscreen on a daily basis! I did not test the 24H wear claim as I didn’t want to wear a full face of foundation to bed, but I didn’t see it having any issues throughout the day.
If you prefer a lighter coverage, make sure to check out my picks for the best light weight foundations!
What I found that it does best is filling in the pores! The coverage was good although I still saw some of my redness peek through. But I was really impressed by how my pores virtually disappeared.
Foundation Ratings
Shade: 10/10
Coverage: 4/5
Finish: 5/5
Packaging: 4/5
Value: 4/5
Total: 26/30 A
For those wanting to wear more of a full coverage foundation on a daily basis, this is a fantastic option as it’s comfortable on the face with a relatively natural finish. But for me, I expected a full coverage foundation to fully cover the redness on my cheeks. Also, as the shade isn’t the perfect match for me, it makes it harder to wear even for special occasions so make sure you pick the shade carefully and ask for a sample first! What this foundation does have going for it is the weightless feel, ability to stay on all day and the bonus SPF protection.

How much of a coverage do you usually use for a daily basis? Any tips for color matching?

Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁 In just a few weeks, the Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁

In just a few weeks, the leaves are going to be golden red at Trout Lake!! 🤩😍. What are your favorite fall foliage spots in Vancouver?
Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤 Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤

Here are the best things I ate in Japan - restaraunt edition! (do you want to see one for snacks? or do you want to see a worst things I ate in Japan?)
Prices of the specific dish listed below.

1. Kanoko, try their special green tea infused soba or normal soba. I loved the dashi and tempura. Perfect lunch option for after visiting the tori gates. 1,300 Yen 🍜

2. Okonomiyaki Sakaba, you can pick the inside filling and a lot of the options were meat based. The sauce on top is delicious and you may be surprised the inside is mostly cabbage and not flour. 1,000 Yen🍥

3. Udon Bo Osaka, I tried out a cold dipping udon and it was excellent! They have a special yuzu sauce and the tempura is amazing too. 1,250 Yen 🍤

4. Roast Beef Ohno, the most affordable way to eat wagyu! Loved the sauces and nice side veggie dishes too. 1,750 Yen 🥓

5. Fuunji, flavorful dipping ramen with a vending machine to order! 1,400 (with egg + bamboo add on)🍱

6. Maguro Koya, holy crap I'm addicted to Ootoro now. So glad we splurged and got the double portion. We also tried the chutoro sashimi to compare cuts. 3,200 Yen 🍣

Hope this provides some delicious inspo for the best food in Japan!
Here's what I found from Ragtag in Japan!! 🤩🤩
I've definitely had my eye on a Dior piece and it's extra special that this design is a Japan exclusive.
I have to say, second hand designer shopping is a lot harder than I remembered! There are SO many stores now, I probably visited 20+ and the prices are not so cheap anymore 🤧🤧
.
A similar card holder from Dior is probably $600 CAD + tax. I got this one for ~$350 CAD. It's in excellent condition but there was no dust bag nor box.
