The Body Shop Spa of the World- French Grape Seed Scrub and Ethiopian Green Coffee Cream

October 12, 2017

The Body Shop is well known for their body butters and you might remember their classic scents like Satsuma, Grapefruit, Coconut and Shea. Recently though they’ve been innovating and coming up with very unique launches such as The Body Shop Spa of the World collection. These products use ingredients from exotic places and create a ritual to pamper yourself at home!

I received two products to test out from the new The Body Shop Spa of the World line up. The products in the collection sound so amazing and makes me want to travel around the world ASAP. For example, Egyptian Milk & Honey Bath, Thai Lemongrass Massage Oil, and Polynesian Monoi Radiance Oil!

French Grape Seed Scrub- Refining Body Scrub

350mL $32 or 50ml $10

I have a pretty simple shower routine but do crave a good body scrub every once in a while. The French Grape Seed Scrub contain small particles that create a good scrub but isn’t too grainy so that it’s uncomfortable. There is a gorgeous earthy smell that could be grape but could also be olives. The particles don’t seem to dissolve when scrubbed but it does rinse away very easily. You are left with a slightly oily film but in a good way as your skin isn’t left dry. The only part I don’t love is the packaging as you are using it in the showers and it’s really easy for water to get into the tub if you aren’t careful.

Ethiopian Green Coffee Cream Firming Body Cream

350mL $36 or 50ml $11

The Ethiopian Green Coffee Cream is slightly tinted a light green color and gives off an earthy fragrant smell. I want to say olive oil is the closest scent i can think of and it smells similar but not identical to the scrub. The texture is a cross between a gel and a cream. It has a slight cooling touch that’s reminiscent of gel but once you are massaging into the skin, it feels more like a cream.  While my skin feels like I can put clothes on right away, my hand feels a bit greasy every time after application. The cream is also suppose to firm the skin due to the caffeine in the coffee but I’m not holding my breathe on those claims!

Tea Tree Anti- Imperfect Night Mask

75mL $21

Separate from the Spa of the World collection, I also received this Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Night Mask. If you are prone to breakouts, this is the mask that will work for you while you sleep! I actually haven’t experienced break outs for a while and I have dry skin, so this isn’t the right mask for me. There is salicylic acid and tea tree oil in this which are 2 known fighters of acne. Although the mask looks like it would have grainy bits, it goes on clear and smooth. I’m going to test this out as a spot treatment next time I have break outs.

Amazonian Saviour Multi-Purpose Balm

50mL $15

The last product, Amazonian Saviour Multi-Purpose Balm is supposedly a do it all! You can use it to nourish severely dry skin such as elbows, knees, heels. You can also use this to revive the look of tattoos! But this is not the type of product I gravitate towards. It’s a bit too messy to use as I prefer to just use body lotion all over any dry spots. Also I find that my hands got too greasy when I used this as you need to swirl around on the balm to warm it up to pick it up on the fingers. The cool thing though is that this product is only made of 9 ingredients so it is very natural!

Overall, my favorite item was definitely the body scrub. It has a luxurious scent and wonderful scrubbing texture! I will also be looking into other products in The Body Shop Spa of the World line up as they sound so exotic!
