Talk about fancy lipglosses! The Givenchy Gloss Interdit Vinyl lipglosses just added three new shades and I’ll be sharing my review on 01 Rose Revelateur and 16 Noir Revelateur.
Basic Info
There are 12 shades available in the Givenchy Gloss Interdit Vinyl line up! The two new shades I have are more of a topper color/special effects but the rest of the collection feature classic lip gloss shades with medium coverage. Each of the lip gloss comes with 6mL of product and retails for $37 at Sephora.
Packaging
There Givenchy Gloss Interdit Vinyl definitely has luxury written all over it. The lid features the classic Givenchy logo and also has a ribbon on two sides to add a bit of texture. But my favorite part about the packaging is the applicator! They actually made the foam applicator in a “G” shape. At first, I thought this would be extremely annoying for application but it actually works really well. The “G” is just the right shape and because it’s curved on the top, it fits along the lip lines really well!
01 Rose Revelateur
The Givenchy Gloss Interdit Vinyl in 01 Rose Revelateur is an absolutely clear gloss with a baby pink foam applicator. When you put it on your lips, it turns slightly pink but I would say it’s mostly colorless. I know you are thinking, $37 for a clear gloss?! I would say though the formula is superb! There is no stickiness at all and just really smooths out the lips and provides a lot of shine. There is a slight sweet and tangy taste and smell to it which I enjoy. The formula is quite runny and is extremely comfortable on the lips. This is not to say you can’t find a lipgloss just as good for cheaper, but if you want luxury I really love the way this performs.
16 Noir Revelateur
A total opposite to the clear gloss is this mysterious looking Givenchy Gloss Interdit Vinyl in 16 Noir Revelateur. From the tube, it looks like a shimmery black gloss. When swatched it starts off as a plummy dark shade, but slowly turns more pink as it reacts to your skin. I find when applied to the lips, it makes your lip color look deeper while adding a layer of shine. Surprisingly the formula is totally different. It’s not sticky but the formula is a lot thicker and does not slide on as smoothly as 01 Rose Revelateur. You can actually also layer and the color pay off will be even deeper. In the swatch, quite a bit of the shimmer show through but on the lips it’s more shine with a bit of shimmer. I think it’s a really edgy look but I prefer 01 Rose Revelateur for an every day lip gloss.
Another thing that was surprising was the staining power. Once I wiped the lip glosses off my hands, you can see there was significant color left behind. I quite like this as it makes my lips look healthy even when the product wears off.
I think it’s a bit crazy to say, but I’m a big fan of these lipglosses even though they are $37. There’s something edgy and unique about the shade, one being totally transparent with the pink applicator, and the other being a shimmery black gloss. They both feel very comfortable to wear and I love the ultra shiny effect it gives off on my lips! 01 Rose Revelateur is especially good for every day use as I don’t have to use a mirror to ensure I get a perfect application! If you are in the mood to splurge, definitely give these a look!
