Revlon Colorstay Exactify Liquid Liner Review

March 15, 2018

Wow it has been a long time since I did my last drugstore makeup review! I apologize but the holiday times is always filled with fun gift sets from high end brands! I have an exciting product to share today, the Revlon Colorstay Exactify Liquid Liner. What’s new about this product is the “Exactify Wheel Tip” which looks like a pizza cutter!

Basics

Name: Revlon Colorstay Exactify Liquid Liner (see official website)
Shades: 4 shades, I have Intense Black and Mulberry
Price: $15.99
Size: 1.0 mL
Available at your local drugstore

In recent years, I have gravitated towards liquid liners as opposed to pencil liners. I still do struggle with making my eyeliner perfectly straight so I was excited to give this a try. What Revlon claims is for this eyeliner is that the “easy to use wheel tip with convenient control handle for the ultimate no skip exactitude.”

Packaging

I first tested the Revlon Colorstay Exactify Liquid Liner in 101 Intense Black. You pull the wand out of the stopper which is a circular rubber piece with slits all around. The tip of the wand is actually a pizza cutter esque tip that can glide along skin.  It might sound a bit scary to have a wheel glide along your eyelid but I actually didn’t notice any discomfort or sharpness at all. The wheel tip is pretty thin in width.

Formula

I am very impressed by how intense and bold the black eyeliner is. The finish has a shiny reflective effect. I don’t notice skipping as much on my eyelids but when I swatched it on my hands, there is quite a bit of skipping. I don’t know if the wheel tip is actually helpful for me to achieve the perfect eye liner but the formula itself is very good. Intense Black is actually a very bold black shade which I enjoy. Mulberry was also a pretty shade when you want definition but a softer look. You’ll notice though that you can’t really manuevoer loops or curves as well and it’s meant more for drawing straight lines.

The formula looks quite wet when you first apply but I was surprised that even when I blinked that the product didn’t smear to other parts of my eyelid. After it dried down, the Revlon Colorstay Exactify Liquid Liner will stay on ALL DAY! Even when you try to take off with makeup remover at the end of the day, it is a bit stubborn.

Top: I rolled the wheel tip back and forth Middle: Only one pass of the wheel tip Bottom: Trying to create unique designs

Ratings

Color: 8/10
Packaging: 8/10
Longevity: 10/10
Precision: 6/10
Value: 7/10

Overall  39/50 B-

The Revlon Colorstay Exactify Liquid Liner will give you an intense look that stays all day! However, I’m not sure if the wheel tip actually helps me as it is quite hard to maneuver especially if you wanted to draw loops or designs. Also there is more skipping than my normal eyeliners. But once this is on, it won’t smudge and will really last all day! I hope they’ll take this formula and make it with a great felt tip! What do you look for in your eyeliners?

On a side note,  I just realized that both Nudestix and Guerlain both have eyeliners using this “wheel tip” technology and the packaging looks exactly the same! Is this a dupe? Although at $15.99 the price is quite high for drugstore!

Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁 In just a few weeks, the Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁

In just a few weeks, the leaves are going to be golden red at Trout Lake!! 🤩😍. What are your favorite fall foliage spots in Vancouver?
Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤 Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤

Here are the best things I ate in Japan - restaraunt edition! (do you want to see one for snacks? or do you want to see a worst things I ate in Japan?)
Prices of the specific dish listed below.

1. Kanoko, try their special green tea infused soba or normal soba. I loved the dashi and tempura. Perfect lunch option for after visiting the tori gates. 1,300 Yen 🍜

2. Okonomiyaki Sakaba, you can pick the inside filling and a lot of the options were meat based. The sauce on top is delicious and you may be surprised the inside is mostly cabbage and not flour. 1,000 Yen🍥

3. Udon Bo Osaka, I tried out a cold dipping udon and it was excellent! They have a special yuzu sauce and the tempura is amazing too. 1,250 Yen 🍤

4. Roast Beef Ohno, the most affordable way to eat wagyu! Loved the sauces and nice side veggie dishes too. 1,750 Yen 🥓

5. Fuunji, flavorful dipping ramen with a vending machine to order! 1,400 (with egg + bamboo add on)🍱

6. Maguro Koya, holy crap I'm addicted to Ootoro now. So glad we splurged and got the double portion. We also tried the chutoro sashimi to compare cuts. 3,200 Yen 🍣

Hope this provides some delicious inspo for the best food in Japan!
Here's what I found from Ragtag in Japan!! 🤩🤩
I've definitely had my eye on a Dior piece and it's extra special that this design is a Japan exclusive.
I have to say, second hand designer shopping is a lot harder than I remembered! There are SO many stores now, I probably visited 20+ and the prices are not so cheap anymore 🤧🤧
.
A similar card holder from Dior is probably $600 CAD + tax. I got this one for ~$350 CAD. It's in excellent condition but there was no dust bag nor box.

📍 Ragtag, Shinseibashi, Osaka
We made it on the kyo-train garaku by Hankyu and I We made it on the kyo-train garaku by Hankyu and I'd highly recommend boarding this train if you're transiting between Osaka and Kyoto. ❤️‍🔥🌸
No reservations are required and the fare is just the basic fare (approximately $4!) 🚅
Check online for the most updated timetable but the most current is
9:32, 11:32, 13:32, and 15:32 leaving Osaka for Kyoto!
We showed up 30 minutes before boarding and was the first ones for car 5. Car 3 seems to be the most popular for the cherry blossoms!
