If you are an avid beauty collector, limited edition releases are always thrilling. Givenchy releases a few limited edition per year and the newest Givenchy Couture Edition 2018 is gorgeous. The most recent collection I reviewed was the Givenchy Lunar New Year with red leather and gold details. The Couture Edition 2018 features various flowers against a black backdrop. I’m not sure if the makeup products they release each time is the same. But for both collections, there is a Prisme Libre loose powder and a Le Rouge lipstick.
Prisme Libre
N01 Mousseline Pastel
One of Givenchy’s best selling items is the Prisme Libre. Although I don’t usually like loose powder products, this one provides a beautiful smooth veil over the skin on days when I feel a bit more fancy. The “shade” available in the Givenchy Couture Edition 2018 collection is the Mousseline Pastel. The powder features 4 different shades that are usually used to color correct. I think it definitely does make a difference with smoothing out the skin tone. If you have combo or oily skin, this would be a really nice finish to use. It doesn’t look ashy on the skin at all but it is better suited for someone with light to medium skin tone.
I like to keep the puff clean so I just shake a bit on to the lid and use a large powder brush to apply all over the face. I am obsessed with the packaging of this collection. It looks like the print of a dress straight off of the runway. I think it looks really elegant and definitely a beautiful piece to display on your vanity.
The limited edition Prisme Libre is $75 while the originals are $68 so you do pay a premium for the limited edition print.
Le Rouge
N315 Framboise Velours
I’ve been using my Givenchy Gloss Interdit Vinyl non stop but this Le Rouge lipstick going to fight for a spot in my purse. The shade for this collection is called N315 Framboise Velours and is a beautiful vibrant berry shade. I used to love wearing berry shades and featured them in many of my favorite fall lipstick shades. However, berry colors must not be trending as I feel like it’s always “nude” shades taking center stage and I slowly accumulated more and more neutrals.
The Le Rouge lipstick was extremely creamy and smooth. The color pay off was also very good. I got a full coverage look with one swipe. There is definitely also a staining property to this as well. The limited edition is classified as a semi-matte but I would say it’s more of a satin. You can see some shine through which I actually like better than matte lips.
I really like how this lipstick looks and feels on the lips. The limited edition print is actually on genuine leather on the lipstick tube. It looks super stylish and high end and very appropriate for spring/summer. The shade is a bit of a surprise for this time of the year, but I think it’ll be a nice statement color in which you can build your look around.
The Le Rouge lipstick retails for $48.50 while the non-limited edition lipsticks are $44.
The two products from the Givenchy Couture Edition 2018 collection were available starting April 13, 2018 at Sephora. Both formulas were a hit and I love the beautiful packaging on this limited edition release!
