Hudson’s Bay Haul (Huge deals over 50% off!)

April 1, 2018

I love online shopping as there’s so much more selection and you don’t even need to leave your computer! Have you noticed that Hudson’s Bay has gone through an overhaul in recent years? They actually carry tons of trendy pieces now and always have great sale prices. I bought a bunch of items earlier this fall and also 2 pieces on Black Friday (yes it’s been sitting in my drafts for forever). I wanted to share some of my Hudson’s Bay haul and online shopping experience so that you can find a deal too! I’m pretty sure most of these items are no longer available, but I’ll link similar items down below!

Jewelry

I love dainty jewelry but I tend to fall in and out of love pretty fast with my pieces so I usually try to find deals. I like to go for pieces under $10 for fashion jewelry as I feel like they are all made in the same factories anyways.  Last fall, I wanted to add a couple more chokers to my collection. I’ve seen a lot of inspo featuring a gemstone choker which is why I picked up this first one from Expression, original $16 on sale for $4.90 (similar here and here). Next, I wanted a choker that wasn’t so rebel/rocker so I thought this feminine scallop design and pink lace up was perfect, original $18 on sale for $4.58 (similar here and here).
I originally bought an Alex and Ani bracelet as Hudson’s Bay carries a huge range from the brand. But the sizing was too big so I returned it. They have a huge selection though so if you are a fan of the brand, this is where you can find great deals. Instead, I kept this pink bracelet set even though only one of the 3 actually fits me. But I don’t mind as I paid just over $5 for it, regular price at $22 (similar here)! I’ve had no issues so far with quality in terms of beads falling out or tarnishing of the metals from all the Expressions items.

Contrary to everything I just said, I did splurge on one long necklace from Louise et Cie. But it was marked down from $118 to $31 and I couldn’t resist. I really like the light pink beads as well as the hexagon accents along the length (similar here and here). It also came with a dust bag which made it feel so much more luxurious.

Shoes/Bags

You’ll find many contemporary designers at the Bay like Kate Spade, Marc Jacobs, Coach etc. You also have slightly cheaper brands like Steve Madden which are an especially great deal when they go on sale! I bought this purse for $24.86 (original $78) as I loved the stud detailing and the contrast between the blue and brown. However, I think once you start using leather bags, it’s hard to go back to PVC as the material is so stiff! I ended up returning this but I thought it was an amazing deal.
Another item I purchased from Steve Madden are these over the knee boots! I bought them full price at the start of the season and have gotten so much use out of them! They did go on sale about mid winter so if you are not in a hurry, you can find some on sale. The shoe selection at the Bay has been so much better in recent years! In my memory it was all about comfort and not style but now the Bay stocks some of my favorite brands like Sam Edelman, Steve Madden, Cole Haan, Vince Camuto and more!

Clothing

One brand that the Bay carries a lot of and marks down quite often is Free People. At original price ($128), I’d say the brand is quite expensive for what it is. I do love the bohemian style but I struggle to hand out $150 for a cotton dress. I’ve been looking for a cream sweater and I found this deal for a Free People sweater for $32.64! It is so cozy, not static-y at all, and goes with everything!
Hudson’s Bay also carries a few brands that normally sells clothing at a pretty low price – California Sunrise, Noisy May, Dex, Vero Moda! I like the trendy designs of these brands but they do tend to use cheaper materials. I would recommend trying these items on in store first to a feel for their style and fit before ordering online. For Black Friday, I bought this black long bomber from California Sunrise for $29.99, original $89.  It’s just a simple casual jacket that I don’t have in my wardrobe and will be better for slightly warmer weather.
I also recently bought this floral white dress by the brand Dex, original $69 on sale for $41.05. The dress has been so versatile! I wear it to work with a blazer but also to fancy dinners on its own. It pairs really well with over the knee boots and I’m excited to wear it into the summer as well!

Returns

Returning items bought online is super easy as you can bring it back to a store. This is the number 1 thing I look for when I online shop. I find returning by mail such a hassle! The only issue with the Bay is that you have to return the product to the right department. For example I have to return my shoes to the shoes area, jewelry to the jewelry counter, bags to the accessories section etc. Other than that, the sales associates don’t ask any questions and there was no issues with refunds. I would say the website does not work well during sales such as Black Friday or Boxing Day. But otherwise the system runs pretty fast and shipping comes within a week.

The post is not sponsored and I bought everything on my own.
