IT Cosmetics Ombre Radiance Blush in Sugar Plum: Review, Swatches, Demo

April 5, 2018

I’ve had really good luck with IT Cosmetics in both skincare and makeup products. Although the brand has been around for a while, it only began selling in Canada at Sephora last year! To get my mood into spring, I spotted the IT Cosmetics Ombre Radiance Blush in Sugar Plum and it looked so pretty! My favorite products so far have been the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream and the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness moisturizer. This blush also did not disappoint and was one of my picks in the best new cheek products for spring!

Basics

Name: IT Cosmetics Ombre Radiance Blush
Shades: 3 available, I have Sugar Plum
Price: $32 CAD
Size: 10.8g
Available at itcosmetics and Sephora

Packaging

The it Cosmetics Ombre Radiance Blush comes in a standard circular pan with a reflective silver finish all around. It’s a classic it Cosmetics packaging but makes it difficult to photograph! It has a sturdy clasp to make sure the lid stays closed. There is a good sized mirror inside and an ombre effect blush in the pan. It is so pretty to look at and I love that both sides are big enough to dip full size brushes in.

Shade

I’m very particular about blush shades as I have naturally red cheeks. I usually like either coral shades, nude shades, or berry shades. I find pink or red toned blushes just makes me look like I came out of a 10km run! Sugar Plum is a deeper berry shade with more purple than red in tone. I find this color to be really flattering and can also put it lower on my cheeks for a nice contour. The other two shades are Je Ne Sais Quoi which is a coral pink and Coral Flush which I think is actually more bright pink.

The highlighter portion of this blush is a champagne color. It has more of a warm glow to it so it’s not so icy and jarring on the skin. I prefer highlighters of this skin tone because it warms up my face and also it looks more natural than really white highlighters.

Formula

I love the formula in the it Cosmetics Ombre Radiance Blush! If you are looking for a matte look, this isn’t for you. The bottom section with the berry shade already has a bit of a sheen and shimmer. But I get such a strong reflective highlight from the top portion. I don’t need a separate highlighter when I use this product! There’s no glittery chunks at all in the formula but you are still able to get a beautiful glow from the color and the highlight. It doesn’t look over the top though and I can happily wear this on a day to day basis to the office.

Swatches & Demo

There are two distinct shades in the It Cosmetics Ombre Radiance Blush as it’s meant for you to use as a blush and highlighter in one. So in the photo above, I first swatched by swirling all the shades together. Then I swatched the top portion which is the beige highlight. Then I swatched the bottom portion which is a nice berry shade with a bit less shimmer than the highlight portion.

I also wanted to show you how it looks like when worn. In the first photo I’m not wearing anything on my cheeks. In the second photo, I used the darker side on my cheekbones and slightly below, then I topped it off with the beige highlight on the top part of my cheekbone and also apples of my cheeks.

I feel like It Cosmetics is a really under rated brand. They consistently produce high quality products but skip the provocative marketing that a lot of other brands do. I’ve really enjoyed all the products I’ve tried in this brand including a highlighter that I bought from The Shopping Channel almost 3 years ago now! I’m so glad It Cosmetics is more easily accessible in Canada now and that the full range is almost available at Sephora!

Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁 In just a few weeks, the Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁

In just a few weeks, the leaves are going to be golden red at Trout Lake!! 🤩😍. What are your favorite fall foliage spots in Vancouver?
Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤 Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤

Here are the best things I ate in Japan - restaraunt edition! (do you want to see one for snacks? or do you want to see a worst things I ate in Japan?)
Prices of the specific dish listed below.

1. Kanoko, try their special green tea infused soba or normal soba. I loved the dashi and tempura. Perfect lunch option for after visiting the tori gates. 1,300 Yen 🍜

2. Okonomiyaki Sakaba, you can pick the inside filling and a lot of the options were meat based. The sauce on top is delicious and you may be surprised the inside is mostly cabbage and not flour. 1,000 Yen🍥

3. Udon Bo Osaka, I tried out a cold dipping udon and it was excellent! They have a special yuzu sauce and the tempura is amazing too. 1,250 Yen 🍤

4. Roast Beef Ohno, the most affordable way to eat wagyu! Loved the sauces and nice side veggie dishes too. 1,750 Yen 🥓

5. Fuunji, flavorful dipping ramen with a vending machine to order! 1,400 (with egg + bamboo add on)🍱

6. Maguro Koya, holy crap I'm addicted to Ootoro now. So glad we splurged and got the double portion. We also tried the chutoro sashimi to compare cuts. 3,200 Yen 🍣

Hope this provides some delicious inspo for the best food in Japan!
Here's what I found from Ragtag in Japan!! 🤩🤩
I've definitely had my eye on a Dior piece and it's extra special that this design is a Japan exclusive.
I have to say, second hand designer shopping is a lot harder than I remembered! There are SO many stores now, I probably visited 20+ and the prices are not so cheap anymore 🤧🤧
.
A similar card holder from Dior is probably $600 CAD + tax. I got this one for ~$350 CAD. It's in excellent condition but there was no dust bag nor box.
