Paul & Joe is known for their cute whimsical designs and their beloved cat lipsticks. It’s been a few seasons since I last reviewed their products, you can check out their 2015 fall releases and 2016 summer release for a little throw back! Today, I’m excited to share a few pieces from the Paul & Joe Spring 2018 collection called April in Paris.
Face & Eye Color
I was very intrigued by the Face & Eye Color release in the Paul & Joe Spring 2018 collection because it comes shaped in an old school record. There are 6 shades in total and I have Spring Coral, Pop Pink and Petal Pink. My favorite shade is 114C spring coral as it’s a beautiful shade for blush. I’m not sure how versatile these are for both eyes and cheeks. In the 6 shade range, there are 4 shades that are blush like, one ivory shade, and one green shade.
CS114A Pop Pink is a lilac shade with fine silver shimmer
CS114B Petal Pink is a bright medium pink with gold shimmers
CS114C Spring Coral is a deep coral with no visible shimmer but noticeable sheen
The most unique thing about this product is the packaging. The product itself comes housed in a cardbox sleeve. Once you pop it out it’s an extremely thin round disk. There is plastic film on top that you can peel back to reveal the product. Then the product is right on top of the bottom cardboard case.
I loved the Spring Coral shade on my cheeks. It had the right amount of sheen so it gives a glowing look. The color is quite pigmented and I actually had to use a pretty light hand. I tried using Pop Pink on my eyes but found it a bit ashy. Petal Pink is a brighter blush shade but I don’t usually look good in pink blushes. Each Face & Eye Color retails for $25.

Wearing Spring Coral on the cheeks. I do not have any highlighter on. I love the beautiful sheen and glow it gives.
Lipstick Case
All of Paul & Joe’s lipsticks are sold separately with the case and the actual lip product. This makes it easy for you to customize season after season. For the Paul & Joe Spring 2018 collection, there are 3 prints available which corresponds to the same prints in the Face & Eye Color. The prints definitely appeal to the cat lover and very true to the Paul & Joe brand. The lipstick cases are made out of paper. It is quite strong and thick but it should be kept away from water.
The pattern I have is 045 and is my favorite! It shows a cat sitting with a bow tie on top of an abstract graphic design. It reminds me of silk scarves from designer brands and feels very inspired by fashion. The lipstick cases are slimmer than most lipsticks and I like how small it is. The lipstick cases are $11 each.
Lipstick
To go with the lipstick cases, there are 3 different shades in the release. Rue Montorgueil is a vibrant orange, Rue Cremiuex is a medium pink, and Saint Germain is a bright red. I have Rue Cremiuex and in the tube, I didn’t think it would look that flattering. It looks like it would be a creamy pink shade but it’s actually a very lightly pigmented lipstick. There is a silver reflective sheen that looked metallic when swatched.
However, once I applied it on the lips, it looks like the prettiest wash of color! The silver reflective sheen turned into a beautiful shiny gloss. And the pink color worked really well with my lip color to add a bit more life into my look! Each of the lipstick is actually a tinted lipstick so it’ll have light pigmentation! Each retails for $21.
Lastly, while it’s not part of the Spring 2018 collection, the Pearl Foundation Primer is a new product to me. The bottle is absolutely beautiful with multi colored pearl sized ball suspended in the serum. Once you pump out the primer, there are no visible color but there will be tiny specks of pink. I like that the serum is quite liquidy and feels moisitruziing on my dry skin. It does not feel like a silicone primer at all. But once it dries down, there is a lot of grip to it. So I know it’ll be good for keeping my face makeup on all day.
In this photo I am wearing the Spring Coral Face & Cheek Color as blush. I am also wearing the Pearl Foundation Primer underneath everything and the Spring 2018 collection lipstick in Rue Cremiuex.
