I love switching up my fragrance and have yet been able to wear the same scent on a daily basis. A new scent that I’ve been testing out is the Clean Ultimate Beach Night. Last year, Clean introduced the Ultimate Beach Day fragrance. Although it wasn’t my cup of tea, it was a completely unique fragrance that smelled like sand, sunscreen, and coconut.
The Clean Ultimate Beach Night is inspired by breezy nights on the beach and bonfires by the ocean. I tried to take this photo by my fireplace to recreate the scene hah. There are a lot of notes in this fragrance with the top notes being: bergamont, lemon, orange and ocean mist.
Once sprayed, I find it really hard to pick these notes out. I actually thought this fragranced smelled very “clean” and like soap. It was difficult for me to imagine a “beach night” with the scent. I thought there would be some smoky elements to reflect the bonfire but I didn’t really get that through the perfume. It smelled similar to some of the classics like Air or Rain.
The middle notes include Jasmine, lilac, lavender, and violet among others. However, I found it difficult to identify any floral notes in the fragrance. Lastly the base notes are ambergris, white musk, and driftwood. I can smell a bit of the musk but not much of the other two notes.
The bottle is a really beautiful ombre of blue to pink. The Ultimate Beach Day perfume is an ombre of pink to blue so the two of them would be beautiful next to each other. I’m a fan of Clean fragrances but unfortunately this one just did not do it for me.
I much preferred the recent new Kenzo World fragrance or the Clean Reserve Sueded Oud. If you are interested in this though, it retails for $74 for 60mL and is available at Sephora and Murale.
