I have tried a few Caudalie skincare products before, but mostly in sample sizes and not enough time to see any results. Today I’ll be sharing two best selling items from Caudalie that will provide you a light hydration for the summer time! You may recognize the brand by the abstract drawing of a grape vine on the packaging. This is because most of their products are based on grape extracts. You can find Caudalie at Sephora or on their online website.
About Caudalie
Caudalie was founded in 1995 and is a line of skincare and body products focused on grape extracts. A lot of the products use organic grapes only and many are also still made in France. Although the ingredients are not 100% natural, they do try to use ingredients from plant origin as often as possible. The company is committed to using no parabens and also donates to NPOs that help to regrow trees around the world. Inside each box of Caudalie product is a secret code. This code is used as part of the myCaudalie loyalty program. Based on the value, each product is worth 20-80 points and you can start redeeming for rewards at 100 points!
Caudalie Grape Water
The Grape Water spray is Caudalie’s iconic product. It’s a facial mist aimed to sooth dry skin and is suitable for sensitive skin as well. I thought it would have a strong grape scent, but actually it’s fragrance-free. I love the nozzle as it produces such an even fine mist. You know how sometimes you’ll end up with a drip of water down your face? Not with this. It’s a beautiful soft mist that evenly covers your face. The 75mL bottle retails for $14 while the full size 200mL retails for $24.
*Side note, the grey stuff on my bottle is because I had a sticker that I tried to peel off. I think normally, you wouldn’t have that issue*
What is also amazing is that the only ingredients are grape water, grape juice and nitrogen. Although I’m not sure if using grape water versus normal water has any effect on the skin, I do appreciate the simple formula. I like to use this right after coming out of the shower, or washing my face as my skin gets tight very quickly. I’ll spritz this on to hydrate the skin before I have a chance to do my full skincare. There’s no stickiness at all and it feels like using thermal water. It’s not an essential item in a skincare routine, but this would be so refreshing in the summer time if you are feeling hot, need a mid day refresh, or just need to lightly hydrate your skin.
Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet
If you live in a hotter climate, you’ll love the Vinosource Moisturzing Sorbet. You can also keep this product in the refrigerator for a more intense feeling of freshness and hydration. The formula comes out in a gel-cream format and easily rubs into the skin. It spreads very easily so you can actually cover a large surface with just a small amount of the product. It is very thin and lightweight so I tend to do a double application. The cream feels very gentle on the skin and would be great for those with sensitive skin. I find the redness on my cheeks always looks diminished when I use this. My skin also feels very soft and supple! However, I do often have to apply the cream two times as it does not feel moisturizing enough with just one layer. To note, I have dry skin and the weather in Vancouver is not very humid or hot yet.
I like that water is the first ingredient, grape fruit water is the second ingredient and Shea butter extract rounds out the top 5. At first, I didn’t enjoy the scent of the product as it’s very earthy and natural. But now I quite enjoy it as it feels like I’m using pure nature on my skin. I think this product would be better suited for someone with sensitive, normal, or oily skin. I still enjoy it for my dry skin but I don’t think it’s best suited for intense hydration.Β The 40mL bottle retails for $48.

I’m really glad I got to try these two products from Caudalie and would recommend it for a light refreshing summer skincare routine! There are other products in the brand I’d definitely like to try out so I’m glad I got this little introduction! If you are unsure what to try from Caudalie skincare, there are often gift sets available at Sephora!
