Earlier this summer, I featured my top picks for a lightweight foundation! The Lancome Skin Feels Good Foundation was part of that list and today I’ll be providing a full review and demo. I’ve usually associated Lancome with full coverage foundations like the Teint Idole. However, on a daily basis I wear a light coverage foundation so I’m excited to see Lancome come out with this!
Basics
Name: Lancome Skin Feels Good Skin Nourishing Foundation
Shades: I have 035W Fresh Almond. Available in 11 different shades
Size: 32mL
Price: $45
Packaging
I really enjoy foundations in a pump as it helps to consistently control how much to use and also is sanitary! The sample I have has a sticker on top of the packaging which is why you seem crumpled edges. But the actual product will look the same but without the flailing sticker. I like how the bottom of the tube is transparent so you can accurately see how much product is left. Also if you are at Sephora, it helps you to see what the shade actually looks like. I’m a big fan of the simple design and it stores away very efficiently too. A couple of my other all time favorite foundations are also in pump format (Urban Decay Naked Foundation, It Cosmetics CC Cream).
Formula
When you pump out the product, the formula feels quite plush and thick. However, I’d definitely categorize this as a light coverage foundation.Β I’ll pump it out on the back of my hand and pick it up with a foundation brush. It usually takes two full pumps to cover my face. It covers any redness I have but won’t cover moles or intense pigmentation. I would definitely recommend this for those with dry skin as it feels nourishing the entire day. If you have oily skin, you probably won’t like the formula as it never fully dries down. It’s not sticky by any means, but if I touch my skin even hours later, the adjective I think of is plump.
Although the product description says hydrating skin tint- healthy glow, there is no glitter or shimmer in the product. I actually find the finish more satin than dewy. The unique formulation of the Lancome Skin Feels Good Foundation comes from the fact that it contains skincare ingredients. Most prominently, it contains hyaluronic acid which helps the skin to retain moisture. The skincare ingredients should work even after you wash off the foundation. Although I haven’t noticed any improvements in my skin, I do like that it nourishes my dry skin while I wear it.
Shade
The shade I have is 035 W Fresh Almond which is described as for medium skin with warm/yellow undertones. I think the color selection is actually decent especially since it’s a lighter coverage foundation. In the photo above the color looks quite dark against the inside of my arm. However, when applied to my face, it actually is a bit lighter. Also don’t be deceived by how thick and pigmented it looks. As I mentioned previously, it’s actually a pretty lightweight foundation! Since the color blends out and is not full coverage, it’s easier to get away with a smaller selection of shades so I think you’ll be able to find one that matches you.
Demo
I have to zoom in to show you guys the before and after. My camera goes automatically to portrait mode if it sees my whole face and blurs out everything! Which is usually a good thing! The only difference between the top and bottom photos is the application of the Lancome Skin Feels Good foundation.
