Lancome X Proenza Schouler Fall Collection: L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick

August 23, 2018

I usually shop for my makeup products at Sephora, but sometimes there are special collections available outside of Sephora. Case in point, the Lancome x Proenza Schouler collection is exclusively available at Lancome online! This collaboration between two powerhouses features all limited edition products and infuses some of Proenza Schouler’s boldness into Lancome’s classic products. I have quite a few of the products from the collection but today I’ll be showing you two shades of the L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick.

Basic

Name: Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick
Shade: 4 shades available, two opaque and two sheer shades
Price: $40 CAD
Size: 3.4g
Available at Lancome online, use PSXLANCOME for free shipping!

Packaging

Lancome packaging is usually quite traditional with black being the main color. But the collaboration with Proenza Schouler has brought out a more bold, wild side! The two opaque shades comes in a bright orange and fuschia tube with Lancome and Proenza Schouler printed in two different fonts. The sheer shades features a slightly different geometric design with rich purple and blue being the main colors. For another fun touch, the lipstick opens by pressing down on the Lancome logo on the top. I’ve never had another lipstick packaged like this before and really enjoy this creative element.

Lancome X Proenza Schouler L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick in 110 Graphic Orange

Lancome X Proenza Schouler L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick in 110 Graphic Orange is a daring orange red! The color pay off is insane and transfers to the lips seamlessly. Although it is a very intense color, I find it flattering when worn and can see myself using this shade for a night out or special event. There is a slight tug to the formula which I actually enjoy especially for ultra pigmented products. There’s less chance of a slip and better precision. I find it glides over any dry patches pretty well but the sheer lipstick does a better job of giving a more smooth appearance overall.

I recently decluttered my red lipstick collection and kept two other orange red lip products. I’ll have to compare them in my next declutter but this lipstick definitely gives me the most precision when applying straight out of the tube! I also adore the bright packaging so this may have to be a keeper! I probably only wear this bright of a lip color 5 or 6 times a year, but I already can’t wait for holiday parties to pull this off!

Lancome X Proenza Schouler L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick in 111 Abstract Burgundy

Although this is suppose to be a sheer finish lipstick, I find the color pay off to still be pretty strong! Lancome X Proenza Schouler L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick in 111 Abstract Burgundy is a dark plum! I gravitate towards darker lips in the fall and winter so this will be perfect for the upcoming months!

The finish on this is quite different from 110 Graphic Orange! Even when I was just swatching, I can immediately feel the difference in formula. This feels a lot more watery and gives off a very glossy finish. Once applied, I find it fully covers my natural lip color and the gloss is still there. I really like that it smooths over my lips as I have some cracked skin due to being sick. With that being said, it’s not something you can just swipe on and go. The color pay off is still quite strong so you’ll either need to be very careful or use a lip brush for a precise finish.

Overall, I’m very impressed with how weightless and comfortable it is to wear such bold colors. The formula is spot on and the color pay off is intense. The one thing I don’t like about these lipsticks is the slight scent that comes with Lancome lipsticks. It reminds me of my mom’s makeup but it could be nostalgic to some.

In terms of the collaboration, I really like Proenza Schouler’s fashion infusion into the Lancome L’Absolu Rouge lipstick formula! The normal black packaging is classic but a plain for my liking. These limited edition lipsticks are exactly my cup of tea. I also like that both of these colors are bold and boundary pushing, similar to Proenza Schouler’s fashion designs. While these colors are not for every day, I still find them to be flattering when worn so I’ll be waiting for the right occasion! Until then, they can sit pretty on my vanity.

Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁 In just a few weeks, the Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁

In just a few weeks, the leaves are going to be golden red at Trout Lake!! 🤩😍. What are your favorite fall foliage spots in Vancouver?
Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤 Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤

Here are the best things I ate in Japan - restaraunt edition! (do you want to see one for snacks? or do you want to see a worst things I ate in Japan?)
Prices of the specific dish listed below.

1. Kanoko, try their special green tea infused soba or normal soba. I loved the dashi and tempura. Perfect lunch option for after visiting the tori gates. 1,300 Yen 🍜

2. Okonomiyaki Sakaba, you can pick the inside filling and a lot of the options were meat based. The sauce on top is delicious and you may be surprised the inside is mostly cabbage and not flour. 1,000 Yen🍥

3. Udon Bo Osaka, I tried out a cold dipping udon and it was excellent! They have a special yuzu sauce and the tempura is amazing too. 1,250 Yen 🍤

4. Roast Beef Ohno, the most affordable way to eat wagyu! Loved the sauces and nice side veggie dishes too. 1,750 Yen 🥓

5. Fuunji, flavorful dipping ramen with a vending machine to order! 1,400 (with egg + bamboo add on)🍱

6. Maguro Koya, holy crap I'm addicted to Ootoro now. So glad we splurged and got the double portion. We also tried the chutoro sashimi to compare cuts. 3,200 Yen 🍣

Hope this provides some delicious inspo for the best food in Japan!
Here's what I found from Ragtag in Japan!! 🤩🤩
I've definitely had my eye on a Dior piece and it's extra special that this design is a Japan exclusive.
I have to say, second hand designer shopping is a lot harder than I remembered! There are SO many stores now, I probably visited 20+ and the prices are not so cheap anymore 🤧🤧
.
A similar card holder from Dior is probably $600 CAD + tax. I got this one for ~$350 CAD. It's in excellent condition but there was no dust bag nor box.
