Drunk Elephant Inspector Drunk Night Kit

November 1, 2018

Holiday gift sets are my favorite things to recommend from Sephora! It usually has amazing value and comes in beautiful packaging. Just in time for the VIB sale, I’d like to share my review of the Drunk Elephant Inspector Drunk Night Kit. I first tried Drunk Elephant this spring and fell in love with the TLC Framboos Glycolic serum! This set contains a full size of that serum as well as 4 other items in mini sizes.

Basics

Name: Drunk Elephant Inspector Drunk Night Kit
Price: $120 ($179 value)
Products: 30 mL TLC Framboo Glycolic Night Serum
30 mL Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser
8 mL B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum
15 mL Lala Retro Whipped Cream
5 mL C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream

This gift set also contains 6 cards that contain really useful information about ingredients and how they affect your skin. The idea behind this set is to use the magnifying glass in the kit to identify harmful ingredients in your current skincare routine. It’s a really clever idea and also quite educational. I definitely have skincare products that contain the “Suspicious 6” so it’s great to learn more. The 6 ingredients to avoid are: Essential oils, drying alcohols, silicones, chemical screens, fragrance/dyes, and SLS.

I definitely buy products sometimes based on it’s smell and how pretty it looks, so I definitely need to watch out for fragrance/dyes, and essential oils.

Drunk Elephant Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser

To start off your night time routine, the Drunk Elephante Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser will dissolve makeup and oils from your skin. It’s a clear gel but once you lather it produces a bit of white foam. The product is formulated at pH 5.5 so it’s similar to your skin’s natural pH. I was actually able to use this right over my eyes to dissolve my makeup and it did not sting at all! I don’t think this did anything particularly special for my skin, but it was nice to have in this kit so it’s a complete skincare routine.

Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum

I have very dry skin so I was very excited to try the B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum. I was expecting the serum to be quite thick but it actually feels more like water! When the product comes out of the pump, it looks like a normal serum but once you spread it out, the texture is very thin! It sinks in really fast and I was scared I’d wake up with flaky dry skin. Surprisingly, it definitely hydrated my skin even though it was such a thin texture! Not only was my skin plump, it was also very smooth! I get small bumps on my chin under my lips and it was significantly smoother just after one day.

Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

The product that I already love from Drunk Elephant is this glycolic serum! It’s a very simple clear serum but it does wonders for my skin. It has a pretty potent AHA/BHA content so you’ll likely feel tingling the first few times you use it. I don’t use it everyday but rather on days when I have bumps or want to clear up my skin. You can check out my previous review of this product. In this set, you actually get a FULL SIZE! This is worth $112 on it’s own so the set is only $8 more to get all the other products to try!

Drunk Elephant C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream

I’m definitely getting to the age where I need to start using eye cream more consistently. I don’t have a lot of issues with wrinkles but I do notice a lot of small lines underneath my eyes. Since Drunk Elephant does not use dyes or essential oils in their products, most items come out white/clear. This eye cream actually has a tinge of yellow. One pump is usually enough for both of my eyes. The texture is pretty rich but not oily. I have not seen a big difference yet but I do like having a separate product to remind me to take special care of the area around my eyes.

Lala Retro Whipped Cream

The Lala Retro Whipped Cream is the last step in the routine. It has a very smooth texture although I’m not sure if I would call it a whipped cream. The texture is in between a thin and thick moisturizer and skins into the skin very nicely. There is a bit of a stick but not from oils. Immediately my skin feels very plump and hydrated. My skin overall felt so smooth and firm the next morning using this set.

I purposes skipped the TLC Framboos serums since I know it’s effects and wanted to see how the other products do on its own. I’m definitely a fan of all these products although I have not yet seen distinctive results from the Eye Cream nor the Jelly Cleanser. However, as a set, the products really complement each other for a perfect night time routine!

Here's what I found from Ragtag in Japan!! 🤩🤩
I've definitely had my eye on a Dior piece and it's extra special that this design is a Japan exclusive.
I have to say, second hand designer shopping is a lot harder than I remembered! There are SO many stores now, I probably visited 20+ and the prices are not so cheap anymore 🤧🤧
.
A similar card holder from Dior is probably $600 CAD + tax. I got this one for ~$350 CAD. It's in excellent condition but there was no dust bag nor box.

No reservations are required and the fare is just the basic fare (approximately $4!) 🚅

We showed up 30 minutes before boarding and was the first ones for car 5. Car 3 seems to be the most popular for the cherry blossoms!

I've been using this a lot on my vacation and it stays on amazingly well all day even with the humidity.
I went for a more unique shade but all the basic browns and neutrals are available too!

Would you swap your current eyeshadow for this?
