I hope you have been enjoying my eyeliner reviews as well as my latest post with tips to perfect your eyeliner game! To round up this series, I have a review of the Makeup Revolution Renaissance Flick eyeliner. I’m a big fan of Makeup Revolution because of their affordability. They used to only be available at Ulta but have been in stock at London Drugs for the past two years!
BASICS
Name: Makeup Revolution Renaissance Flick
Shade: One shade only
Price: $8 USD
Size: .55mL
Packaging
For a liquid eyeliner, the packaging is actually quite innovative. The outer casing is in a rose gold color which reminds me of the Fenty Beauty Flyliner. But the shape of it is very different choosing to go for an elongated oval with a bigger circumference than most other eyeliner pens. I found the lid to be a bit too short as it was hard to hold on to pull off. I see that they made some etchings to provide more grip but a bigger lid would have been easier to use.
The Makeup Revolution Renaissance Flick eyeliner has a felt tip that is a bit more stiff than I’m used to. But this would be really great if you are drawing a thicker wing. The very tip of it is still thin enough though for me to use right along my lash line for a natural look.
Formula
If you love a bold black eyeliner, this is for you! The pigmentation is very strong and gives off that slightly shiny true black look. I can imagine this being perfect on the glam cat eye looks. I was also definitely able to use it for every day purposes as well. You just have to use the tip instead of slanting the felt tip too much on the edge. The formula lasts all day and I don’t have any issues with smudging or creasing!
Swatch & Demo
You can see that the liner comes out nice and black with a bit of shine. I was able to draw a pretty thin line right up against my lashlines. I think this is a great alternative if you don’t want to shell out $30 for a high end eyeliner!
