Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner – Black
What makes the Stila eyeliner so popular is the long lasting formula! The black pigment flows evenly out of the marker tip and once applied, it resists any sort of smudging. I find the marker tip to be pretty similar size to other liquid eyeliners out there in the market. Compared to some of my other favorites (Fenty Flyliner, It Cosmetics Superhero), I find the Stila tip to be a touch more stiff. It has fantastic staying power and holds up against my eye rubbing at work.
The eyeliner on the bottom is the original Stila Stay All Day and the eyeliner on top is the Micro Tip. As you can see, the tip is a lot skinnier but also much shorter. I find the original is easy to use along the lashline. The formula glides easily and I have decent control. I do notice that because the tip is firmer, it’s a bit harder to get a natural “flick” at the end. I tend to have more of a blunt ending than a natural flick.
Stila Stay All Day – Micro Tip
As you can see, not only is the tip much skinnier, the length of the marker is also much shorter. It has a decent balance between firmness and flexibility. It definitely gets right into the lashlines but I find that I can’t slide it across my lashline like with other eyeliners because the body of the marker is so short. The tip tends to get stuck on the lashes and I’ll have to use more of a dotting motion instead of being able to glide across the lash line. For an every day look, the Micro Tip takes longer for me to do my eyeliner. It is better suited for more intricate designs.
Between the two, I think I’d recommend the original Stila Stay All Day liner for most people! I think unless your eyes are extremely hooded and you need a much finer tip, the original will be a better choice. The tip can still get close enough to lashlines to draw a thin line and it’s much more efficient as it glides across the eyelid better.
Stila Stay All Day – Intense Sapphire
It’s not often that you see colorful liquid eyeliners. For me, I only used colored eyeliners on my bottom lashline for a pop of color. There are 11 shades to choose from, so if you’re in search of a specific shade, you might have a good chance. The formula and tip is the exact same as the black.
I tried this shade out and it’s nice as a variation to black. However, I still prefer the black eyeliner look especially as a liquid eyeliner and on the upper lash line. These shades are probably best for those in search of a specific look and requires a smudge proof formula.
