I am back with a drugstore review! Recently, I saw the the new Maybelline Snapscara and adored the cute design on the side. I love trying out drugstore mascaras although if I think about it, my two favorites are high end. (Stila Huge Extreme and Benefit They’re Real). Maybelline does a great job though of staying on trend and putting out quality products and is one of my favorite drugstore brands.

Packaging
What really caught my eye were these cute cartoon drawings on the side. It is a pretty standard mascara tube other than the fact it is a square instead of a circle. It still fits in my acrylic makeup drawers and the lipstick holders so it’s still easy to store.
Wand
I was very excited when I saw the shape and type of wand. The wand is tapered and also has a slight curve. I find that mascaras with a slight curve are easier to apply on my lashes. With a straight wand, it’s hard to apply to specific regions. Whereas with a curved brush, I use the convex side to focus on a specific area as it hits a smaller surface area.
How it Wears
How this mascara is suppose to be different is that it’s easy on and easy off. You should be able to remove this mascara with just warm water. I’m not sure whether this was a need in the market because you should be washing your face with more than just water. The formula is wax free which might be useful for those wearing eyelash extensions.
In terms of making my lashes look larger, I think it does a decent job. I definitely don’t experience clumping which is nice. But it usually takes me a couple of passes to get my lashes extended and voluminized. I think it’s enough for a day time look but I struggle to make this dramatic enough for when I want big lashes. You can see how dark my lashes can look with other mascaras. I also found that the mascara flakes towards the end of the day.
So overall, I think it did it’s job, but it wasn’t amazing. It is better than some of the disappointing mascaras I tried recently but is not my favorite. Also, while it does actually come off with water, I usually have no trouble taking off other mascaras with micellar water so it’s not the best selling point for me.

I actually haven’t found a mascara that’s blown me away for a while now so I’ll continue my search. My last favorite mascara I tried was the It Cosmetics Superhero last summer.
