Nuxe Creme Prodigieuse Boost Skincare Review

April 28, 2019

I love having the chance to try out new brands and have been testing out the Nuxe Creme Prodigieuse Boost skincare collection for the past month! You may know the brand from their iconic dry oil but this is my first time trying their products.

About the Collection

The philosophy and idea of this collection really resonates with my lifestyle. The Creme Prodigieuse Boost is a multi corrective skincare line to fight the harmful effects from fatigue, stress and pollution. Young women these days are so busy and hectic lifestyle choices can affect your skin condition. The formulas in this collection aims to boost the skin’s antioxidant defence mechanism, collagen reserve and cellular activity.

The products all have a beautiful floral scent that is clearly evident but not overpowering. There’s also a light pink tinge to the products. Read on to see what’s my pick on the top product in this collection!

Products from Nuxe are available online at Shoppers Drug Mart or from FeelUnique.

Nuxe Creme Prodigieuse Boost Energising Priming Concentrate

The first step in this skincare collection is the Energising Priming Concentrate ($39). I use this as a serum, right after cleansing my face. The texture is extremely watery and quite refreshing on the skin. It has a slippery feel at first even though the consistency is thin like water. It temporarily leaves a slightly tacky feel but dries down really quickly. The formula contains 2 types of hyaluronic acid and vitamin C.

The light texture is inspired by Korean cosmetics and is meant to be a primer to prepare the skin for further products. I always use a serum now before cream as I think serums can provide a lot of skincare benefits. They sink further into the skin therefore more likely to be effective.

Nuxe Creme Prodigieuse Boost Multi-Correction Eye Balm Gel

Call this a conspiracy theory but I don’t think eye creams work! I don’t think I have much of a dark circle but I do have some fine lines in my inner corner. However, I’ve never found an eye cream that actually provided tangible results. The Multi-Correction Eye Gel Balm ($38) has a really nice texture. It’s medium weight and has this plush, moussey feel as you blend the product in.

The formula includes a Botancial Caffine extract to fight against dark circles and puffiness. Hazlenut Oil is added to help strengthen the fragile skin around the eye. I thought this product felt very nice around the eye but I did not notice any difference.

Nuxe Creme Prodigieuse Boost Multi-Correction Gel Cream

There are two creams in this collection and the Multi-Correction Gel Cream ($48) is better suited for those with Normal to Combination skin. For a facial moisturizer, it has a very light consistency and seems to easily melt into the skin. It’s great for those who like to use skincare in the morning. I have dry skin though so this is not moisturizing enough for me and my skin feels tight after.

The cream includes Jasmine Flower extract which is a boost for the skin’s antioxidant defence mechanism. Now that I live downtown, my skin gets exposed to a lot of pollution. I recently had a skin diagnosis that showed I had excess sebum and a dusty face! It’s definitely important to consider the impact of pollution and stress on your skin. That’s why I really like the idea behind this line.

Purchase this cream along with the eye cream for only $52 as a set!

Nuxe Creme Prodigieuse Boost Night Recovery Oil Balm

I saved the best for last! The Night Recovery Oil Balm ($52) is my favorite product in this collection! The name makes it sound frightening greasy, but I actually find it really light weight. It is medium consistency at best and has a gel texture to it. Similar to the eye cream, there’s a plush and moussey feel. This provides nice moisture for my dry skin and I’d use this in the morning too!

This cream also includes Jasmine Flower extract. Additionally, it also has Nopal Flower extract which boosts cell renewal. My skin usually looks pretty fresh and smooth when waking up in the morning.

Here is a shot of the texture of the products. From left to right: Multi-Correction Gel Cream, Night Recovery Oil Balm, Multi-Correction Eye Gel Balm.

Overall, I really like the idea of this collection but only the Night Recovery Oil Balm is hydrating enough for my dry skin. I like the Energising Priming Concentrate as I’m used to use a serum before cream but it can probably be substituted by something else.

Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁 In just a few weeks, the Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁

In just a few weeks, the leaves are going to be golden red at Trout Lake!! 🤩😍. What are your favorite fall foliage spots in Vancouver?
Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤 Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤

Here are the best things I ate in Japan - restaraunt edition! (do you want to see one for snacks? or do you want to see a worst things I ate in Japan?)
Prices of the specific dish listed below.

1. Kanoko, try their special green tea infused soba or normal soba. I loved the dashi and tempura. Perfect lunch option for after visiting the tori gates. 1,300 Yen 🍜

2. Okonomiyaki Sakaba, you can pick the inside filling and a lot of the options were meat based. The sauce on top is delicious and you may be surprised the inside is mostly cabbage and not flour. 1,000 Yen🍥

3. Udon Bo Osaka, I tried out a cold dipping udon and it was excellent! They have a special yuzu sauce and the tempura is amazing too. 1,250 Yen 🍤

4. Roast Beef Ohno, the most affordable way to eat wagyu! Loved the sauces and nice side veggie dishes too. 1,750 Yen 🥓

5. Fuunji, flavorful dipping ramen with a vending machine to order! 1,400 (with egg + bamboo add on)🍱

6. Maguro Koya, holy crap I'm addicted to Ootoro now. So glad we splurged and got the double portion. We also tried the chutoro sashimi to compare cuts. 3,200 Yen 🍣

Hope this provides some delicious inspo for the best food in Japan!
Here's what I found from Ragtag in Japan!! 🤩🤩
I've definitely had my eye on a Dior piece and it's extra special that this design is a Japan exclusive.
I have to say, second hand designer shopping is a lot harder than I remembered! There are SO many stores now, I probably visited 20+ and the prices are not so cheap anymore 🤧🤧
.
A similar card holder from Dior is probably $600 CAD + tax. I got this one for ~$350 CAD. It's in excellent condition but there was no dust bag nor box.
