Truth to be told, I was scared to try Mugler perfumes for the longest time! A few years ago, I tried out a Mugler Alien perfume at The Bay. However, I didn’t see where the nozzle was and sprayed everything right into my palms! Unfortunately, I didn’t even like the scent but it stayed with me the whole day.
I am excited to say that Mugler Angel Eau Croisiere smells nothing like Alien and is going to be the perfect spring scent!
The Mugler Angel Eau Croisiere is available at The Bay for $82 for a limited time. The bottle contains 50mL of product. There is also a loyalty program called The Circle on Mugler’s website. However, you need one code to join and at least one more to receive any type of benefits.
The Inspiration
The inspiration behind this perfume is to create a scent that embodies the desire to escape. This scent is made for your next getaway in search of adventure and time for yourself. I am always searching for the next amazing travel destination so the inspiration speaks loudly to me. It’s so important in this career driven world to take time for yourself and explore the world. I like that with scent, it can transport me to a summer beach vacation.
The Bottle
The Mugler Angel Eau Crosiere bottle follows the Angel family with an asymmetrical star bottle. The legs are pointy so it doesn’t stand and needs to be placed flat on a surface. The nozzle is really unique and is hidden behind the top tip. With a yellow and pink color, this perfume reflects beach cocktails and beach sunsets.
I like to display my perfumes so I’m a little sad that this does not stand up with the rest of my bottles. It is rather unique though to have the bottle lie down flat so I’ll give it a plus for creativity but a minus for fitting in with my collection.
The Scent
I was really pleasantly surprised with the scent! I associated Mugler with stronger scents but the Angel Eau Croisiere has a very sparkling fruity opening. It’s also not overly sweet which is perfect as I recently started developing headaches with certain perfumes. Based on Fragrantica, the main notes are sweet, fruity, tropical and citrus.
The initial scent is so delicious, if it was a dessert, I’d gobble it right up. Mango is the most dominant scent and luckily it’s one of my favorite fruits! For the first 30 minutes or so, the mango scent is very apparent. You also get a bit of citrus to add some balance. The base of the note should mimic the original angel with patchouli and praline. However, by the time the fruity cocktail wears off, the scent is pretty light and it’s hard to detect.
From what I read, the Mugerl Angel Eu Crosiere does not resemble the original Angel very much. I really like this version because it’s got a great tropical scent! But if you are looking for a slight variation on the original, this might not be for you as it does not retain the original DNA of Angel.
If you like fruity scents but are over the generic floral, sweet smells, I’d highly recommend this one! The mango notes immediately reminds me of summer!
