With Instagram being such a big part of everyone’s lives, it’s no surprise that beauty brands are creating collections around this obsession. The latest Revlon Photoready Candid collection comes with a foundation, concealer and powder to create a natural finish. This collection is made for the busy millennial! The formula contains antioxidant and anti-pollution protection in line with everyone’s busy lives.
Revlon Photoready Candid Foundation
The Revlon Photoready Candid Natural Finish Anti-Pollution Foundation has an astounding 31 shades! For a drugstore product, this is very inclusive. I like how small and compact the packaging is and it even comes with a pump. The formula is extremely comfortable to wear on the skin and feels invisible. I’m also impressed by the medium coverage of this foundation even with such a light formula. I definitely agree that this is a natural looking foundation!
Since I live downtown now, there’s more pollutants so I’m intrigued by the claims of anti-pollution, antioxidant and anti-blue-light. I’m not sure which ingredients actually have these protective effects, but it is part of the marketing claim.
Swatches & Demo
I have shade 200 Nude which is light/medium with cool, peach undertones. I wouldn’t have thought this is the right match for my skin tone but it surprisingly worked very well. The shade feels much more neutral than the description and there’s no orange or oxidization effect. I applied it with a stippling brush which I find gives me a very natural finish.
Here is a close up to show the texture and coverage. It completely covers up my pores creating a smoother canvas. I found the formula to be moisturizing on my dry skin! If you have sensitive skin, you’ll be happy to know that it is formulated without oils, parabens, phthalates, synthetic dyes and harsh fragrances.
Revlon Photoready Candid Concealer
If you read my YSL Touche Eclat review earlier this month, you’ll know that I don’t test out new concealers that often.Β Similar to the foundation formula, the concealer formula contains anti oxidant and anti blue light properties. Since I sit in front of a computer all day at work, I’m intrigued to know if there’s any effect.
Demo of Concealer
I have shade 025 Creme Brulee. As you can see from the demo below, it has a yellow undertone which I find to be great for brightening! I like that it’s more of a moisturizing formula and that it doesn’t sink into my fine lines around the eyes.
Most of the time, I use concealer as a way to conceal blemishes. I rarely use it for brightening up the undereye but I like the results that this gives. It’s a pretty creamy thick texture but with enough emollients so it doesn’t dry and cake. There’s very decent coverage as well. I don’t notice any effects from the caffeine or blue light claims but it works well as a general concealer!
Revlon Photoready Candid Setting Powder
Lastly, the Revlon Photoready Candid collection features an anti-pollution setting powder. There is a translucent shade as well as 2 deeper shades. I’m so impressed with the packaging because it comes with a built in sifter and also a sturdy lid that can keep the powders locked down. There’s nothing worse than dropping your makeup and having it spill everywhere on the floor!
I don’t really have issues with oiliness throughout the day so I can’t comment on it. When I use a fluffy brush, the powder melts into the skin and does not leave a white cast.
I’ve been using this collection as my base for the last little while and have been enjoying the formula a lot! Now that I’m more tanned from vacation, it sadly doesn’t match me anymore. I’d highly recommend the foundation and the concealer for you to try out. The formulas feel very high end and provides a natural finish with a good amount of coverage!
