Background on the Inspiration Behind this Collection
What inspired me most about these products is the idea and branding behind it. First off, it is called Character Concealer because the tagline is- never conceal character. I thought this played in really well with the current movement of expressing yourself and individuality. I also really love that the shade names are positive qualities such as humble, loyal and kind. None of these characters relate to external appearance and they are qualities we can all strive to be. The story of the CEO is also just incredible, highly recommend a read!
Packaging
Each of the Character concealer comes in a slim tube with their classic mint green branding. The tubes look similar to most concealers but is actually a lot slimmer. The only concern I have is that I find product accumulates in the opening and on the stick. I always get a bit skeptical when there’s product on the stick and opening because I’m scared product will leak out. The doefoot applicator has a rounded edge and good flexibility. It’s padded enough that it feels soft against the skin.
Formula
When you first apply the product, the finish is very shiny and sticky. It’s the first time I’ve seen a concealer with such a glossy finish. Once it’s blended, the finish is natural, skin like and the stickiness disappears. The formula is very thick so it doesn’t do very well when you try to spread it. It works best if you apply the concealer exactly where you want it and you tap the product in.
The coverage of the Evio Beauty Character Concealer is very impressive. It’s a true full coverage concealer and does well on imperfections and under the eye! I did not experience any caking or clinging to skin. I’ll definitely be pulling this out for my full glam looks. I prefer a lighter coverage for a daily use (check out one of my favorites), but this is nice for special occassions.
The other important thing to note about these concealers is the formula. Castor seed oil is the 2nd ingredient and it also contains cannabis sativa seed oil, rosemary leaf extract and jojoba oil. The infusion of these vegetable oils is probably what makes this formula so creamy!
Shades
Right now, they are only 5 shades of the Evio Beauty Character Concealers. On their website, they have already made a comment that more shades will be coming in 2020. I think this will be an important to address as 5 shades is definitely not enough to cover the full skin spectrum.
From left to right: Humble (C1), Loyal (C2), Brave (C3), Amazing (C4), Kind (C5)
Demo
Since the product is so high coverage, I like to use a smaller amount of product by lightly dotting it around the eye area. I use slightly more product towards the inner corner and blend out as I go. Then I used a clean foundation brush and tapped the product in.
On my right eye, I am wearing Loyal (C2). As you can see, it’s a bit light for me but provides a nice brightening effect. On my left eye, I am wearing Brave (C3). This shade matches my skin better and looks really natural even though it’s so high coverage.
I created a before and after so you can see the difference. It completely covers the purple under the eye and fills in the pores as well. I don’t normally reach for full coverage concealers but I do really enjoy how this photographs and how even my skin looks.

The color match is perfect for me but definitely not for everyone. If you do not fit in one of the 5 shades available right now, make sure to check back next year! The price point is really good as it’s a high end product but only $16. You only need a tiny bit of product to achieve a flawless canvas.
