I’ve been so fortunate to try out many of Laneige’s beauty launches since they became available in Canada a few years ago! I actually discovered the brand 7 years ago when I was in HK for exchange during school. But it’s been so cool to see the global movement of K-beauty reach Canada. Today, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the best to worst Laneige products! I really like seeing one brand round ups on Youtube and blogs so I hope you enjoy this too!

Best Laneige Products
#1 Lip Glowy Balm
My absolute favorite item from Laneige is their Lip Glowy Balm that came out last spring! What I love about the product is that it is hydrating and provides such a pretty shine all over the lips without any stickiness. The scents are also tantalizing. My favorite scents are grapefruit and peach. The other 2 scents are berry and pear.

Although each of them have a slight tint when swatched, it’s essentially clear on the lips! So just pick your favorite scent and don’t worry about the color!

#2 Water Bank Moisture Cream (Intensive)
If you follow my blog, you will know that I have very dry skin. I’m always on the look out for a great moisturizer! I featured the Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream (Intensive) in my Best Face Creams for Dry Skin post. It is a heavy duty cream that I like to pull out during winter time! Highly recommend you to try this if you need some intensive hydration.

#3 Lip Sleeping Mask

I didn’t get the hype about this product for the longest time but it really is a lifesaver when you have flaky dry lips. I currently use the original scent but Laneige will release limited edition scents such as this one called Sweet Candy. Make sure to use the scoop that comes with the product as it’ll keep the lip mask sanitary and your nails clean. The formula includes hyaluronic acid which is a popular ingredient in hydrating skincare products.
Other flavors available: Vanilla, Apple Lime, Grapefruit

#4 Mini Pore Waterclay Mask

I enjoy using a clay mask every month or so to deep clean my skin. I really liked the Laneige Mini Pore Waterclay mask. Some clay masks have a pungent smell but not this one. I also like how when it dried, I can see my pores so it feels more effective. It was a bit of a pain to rinse off though so I’d recommend putting this on before jumping in the shower.

#5 Water Bank Moisture Cream/Hydro Essence

A few months ago, I tested out the new Water Bank products from Laneige. I really enjoyed both the moisture cream and the hydro essence. The products were hydrating and didn’t cause any irritations to the skin. If you have slightly more oily skin but are still looking for hydration, the Hydro Gel is a lighter alternative.

#6 Cica Sleeping Mask

The newest product from Laneige that I’m testing out is the Cica Sleeping Mask. The brand is well known for their suite of products that works while you sleep. I enjoy how plush my skin feels after using this. However, I didn’t realize you are suppose to use this 1-2 times a week and I was using it every day. I got some breakouts although it could be unrelated to this product. So I’m waiting for a good time to test this out again. It is very highly rated on Sephora but I’m keeping it in the middle of the pack right now as I need to give it a better go.

#7 Water Sleeping Mask (Original + Lavender)

The Water Sleeping Mask is the original product that put Laneige on the beauty map. Their sleeping mask is a top seller world wide! I think it’s a really hydrating product that is relaxing to use but I don’t like the fact that I’m leaving a layer of product on my skin overnight which can smear on my bedding.
Laneige also releases limited edition versions of the water sleeping mask and most recently they have a lavender version. I thought this was really smart as it ties in well to the sleep aspect of the product. Both of these products are meant to be used after moisturizer and as a “mask” once or twice a week.

#8 Bright Dew Original Cream/Emulsion

I enjoyed using this line up and thought my skin felt plump and hydrated. However, it is meant to be brightening and I”m not sure if I saw any effects of it. Also, I like that Laneige usually has a more approachable price tag for a deparatment store brand. But this collection is definitely priced higher than their usual products and I’m not sure if it’s worth the extra.

#9 BB Cushion Hydra Radiance SPF 50

BB Creams originated from Asia and a lot of Western brands have hopped on the trend in recent years. I like them because they usually contain skincare benefits and also SPF. I thought the Laneige BB Cushion was okay but because the formula is on the light side, I found it tended to cling to any dry spots on my skin. I prefer a more creamy formula in foundation so that it smoothes over any flaky skin. But otherwise, I liked the color match and also the level of coverage.

#10 Two Tone Lipstick

Another K Beauty trend that became mainstream was ombre lips. Laneige created the Two Tone Lipstick so you can achieve the ombre lips look with one swipe. I actually thought a few shades worked really well and I loved the finished look! But there were also a few color combinations that were more questionable. I found the formula was again on the thin side. So unfortunately when my lips were not looking their best, this formula tended to exaggerate those lines and flakes.

#11 Vitamin Brightening Cleansing Water

There’s actually nothing wrong with the Laneige Vitamin Brightening Cleansing Water. It did a good job removing all my makeup and left my skin feeling fresh. But I love my Bioderma micellar water and think that one is a much better value. (I just realized that Sephora no longer carries this product)
#12 Mini Pore Blur Perfector

I used to question pore minimizing products as I didn’t understand why it’s necessary. But in the past few years, my pores became more and more noticeable! I didn’t think this product actually made any immediate or long term difference to the size of my pores so it’s ranking low on my list. Although I have yet to find a product that actually reduces the size of pores so maybe it’s like hunting for a mythical unicorn.

#13 Lip & Eye Makeup Remover

So I’d say the only product I actually disliked from Laneige is this one on the bottom of the list. I’ve never really liked makeup removers that had a water and an oil based layer. This is one of those products where you need to shake it to combine the two layers. I thought it removed my makeup okay but it left my eye area feeling greasy so I’d have to follow it up with a micellar water.

Big thanks to the Laneige PR team for providing me with all these products to test throughout the years!
