First Impressions of Wander Beauty

June 18, 2020

While the world is on lock down with the pandemic, I thought I’d squash my travel bug by testing out a few products from Wander Beauty. The brand is a collection of clean beauty essentials made for multitasking. Most of the product names revolve around traveling and are great for ladies on the go! Keep reading for my first impressions of Wander Beauty!

Glow Getter Mist

I love a good face mist as it refreshes my eyes and mind through the day. I always keep one by my office desk (check out my must have office beauty essentials). The Wander Beauty Glow Getter Mist includes niacinamide and evening primrose oil for hydration benefits.

This mist has a slight dual layer wth the top 1/8th being an oil-y base while the rest is water base. You should shake well to mix before using. The mister is super fine and even which I love!

Water and olive fruit oil are the first two ingredients with niacinamide coming in as the 5th ingredient. I appreciate it when brands advertise a benefit and that ingredient is actually prominent in the product. There’s almost 30 different oils and extracts from various plants. It actually does leave my skin feeling like I used a light layer of facial oil

My only negative comment is that it’s hard for me to justify an expensive facial mist as I feel 50% lands on the ground.

Lift Off Purifying and Brightening Peel Off Mask

Okay first, whoever came up with this name is a genius! It ties in with the travel theme so well. I’ve had mild successes with peel off masks as I worry it breaks apart too easy and ends up creating more of a mess than just rinsing it off.

This mask contains a whole boat load of exotic fruits (I kind of wish I can eat them all). And it contains a base of kaolin clay which absorbs impurities.

It is a great product to use if you have girlfriends over as the color is this reflective fuschia all over your face. The peel off feature also worked well as I was able to get 95% of the product off. My only concern though is that the peeling off motion irritates my skin and I can feel a mild stinging for at least half an hour after. It might not be best for people with sensitive skin.

While my skin felt smooth after use, I didn’t notice any changes or differences.

Lip Retreat Oil

I feel like I start every lip post these days by saying YES SHINY LIPS ARE BACK. There are four shades available of the Wander Beauty Lip Retreat Oil ($22) and I have Oasis which is a clear shade. This product provides the hydration of a lip treatment but the shine of a lip gloss. There’s no scent to this product.

A couple of the main ingredients that provide hydration are rosa canina fruit oil, apricot kernel oil, avocado oil, niacinamide and vitamin E. My lips definitely feel really hydrated when I use this and the shine is out of this world. It also fills in lip lines and I love how smooth and plump my lips look with this on! I’m a big fan and would highly recommend this.

Baggage Claim Gold Eye Mask

With covid happening around the world, I”m sure we all have a bit more time for self care. I probably wouldn’t have spent the time to use an eye mask before. But what’s better than snoozing off in an afternoon siesta than with gold foils underneath your eyes.

The Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Eye Mask ($5) is made up of 3 layers to help the product penetrate your skin. It felt cooling for the first 2 minutes or so. But actually the gold foil layer helps to trap the heat and improve absorption. The mask was very thin and flexible and stayed on well even when I was standing up and walking around. There was a light lavender scent.

I’m not sure if I notice any immediate difference but the area under my eye definitely feels hydrated. The gold foil made me feel bougie strutting around the house with the eye mask on. So that feeling alone was worth it for me.

Wander Beauty First Impressions

My favorite product out of these 4 was the Lip Retreat Oil. It’s something I’ve been wearing every day. The other 3 were enjoyable to use but I didn’t notice any difference. I liked the clean ingredient list and fun travel puns so I’d be interested in trying out more from the brand!

Here's what I found from Ragtag in Japan!! 🤩🤩
I've definitely had my eye on a Dior piece and it's extra special that this design is a Japan exclusive.
I have to say, second hand designer shopping is a lot harder than I remembered! There are SO many stores now, I probably visited 20+ and the prices are not so cheap anymore 🤧🤧
.
A similar card holder from Dior is probably $600 CAD + tax. I got this one for ~$350 CAD. It's in excellent condition but there was no dust bag nor box.

No reservations are required and the fare is just the basic fare (approximately $4!) 🚅

9:32, 11:32, 13:32, and 15:32 leaving Osaka for Kyoto!
We showed up 30 minutes before boarding and was the first ones for car 5. Car 3 seems to be the most popular for the cherry blossoms!

I've been using this a lot on my vacation and it stays on amazingly well all day even with the humidity.
I went for a more unique shade but all the basic browns and neutrals are available too!

Would you swap your current eyeshadow for this?
