Armani Beauty Essence-in-Foundation Cushion Review

July 5, 2020

Foundation reviews are some of my most popular posts on this blog so I’ll be giving the people what it wants! Today’s post will be a review of the Armani Beauty Essence-In-Foundation Cushion! Armani Beauty is kind of an underrated makeup brand even though they are such a fashion powerhouse. I’ve tried their liquid eyeshadows last year and was very impressed.

Basics

Name: My Armani To Go Essence-in-Foundation Cushion
Shade: 7 shades, I have #3
Price: $90 CAD
Size: 15mL
Available at Sephora and Armani online

Packaging

Cushion foundations have been the rage for a few years now (I’ve tried ones by AmorePacific, Laneige, and Sulwhasoo in recent years). The Armani Essence-in-Foundation Cushion comes in a similar flip case but with a few luxurious details. The sponge is mostly circular but with a pointed top. This is very helpful as I found a lot of times, I struggled to get in corners of my nose or small spots.

The compact clicks open with a pretty silver logo right. Although it looks circular in photos, the top and bottom are overlapping ovals which is very functional as the narrow bottom is easy to hold while the wider top gives a bigger mirror size.

Formula

The Armani Beauty Essence-in-Foundation Cushion is the most full coverage cushion foundation that I’ve tried! With one layer, I get a medium coverage look. But it’s very easy to press more product onto certain spots for a full coverage look. The product hides any of my post acne hyperpigmentations and evens out the redness on my cheeks.

I find the foundation lasts pretty well throughout the day. However, it does start to cling to dry spots and break apart. For some reason, almost all of the cushion foundations I’ve tried tend to do this. Maybe the formula is less hydrating than liquid foundations, but it’s not the best if you have very dry skin.

Shade

Shade 3 is the perfect match for me right now. It’s usually tough to find foundations with an yellow undertone. If you have a similar issue where foundations usually pull too pink or peachy on you, this is a great product to check out.

My only gripe about this product is the hefty price tag. Coming in at $90 with no refill is quite steep. But if you like the portability of a cushion foundation and have always wanted one with more coverage, this is a nice one to try! I really enjoy the finished look!

Ratings

Shade: 10/10
Coverage: 5/5
Finish: 4/5
Packaging: 5/5
Value: 3/5
Total: 27/30 A

Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁 In just a few weeks, the Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁

In just a few weeks, the leaves are going to be golden red at Trout Lake!! 🤩😍. What are your favorite fall foliage spots in Vancouver?
Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤 Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤

Here are the best things I ate in Japan - restaraunt edition! (do you want to see one for snacks? or do you want to see a worst things I ate in Japan?)
Prices of the specific dish listed below.

1. Kanoko, try their special green tea infused soba or normal soba. I loved the dashi and tempura. Perfect lunch option for after visiting the tori gates. 1,300 Yen 🍜

2. Okonomiyaki Sakaba, you can pick the inside filling and a lot of the options were meat based. The sauce on top is delicious and you may be surprised the inside is mostly cabbage and not flour. 1,000 Yen🍥

3. Udon Bo Osaka, I tried out a cold dipping udon and it was excellent! They have a special yuzu sauce and the tempura is amazing too. 1,250 Yen 🍤

4. Roast Beef Ohno, the most affordable way to eat wagyu! Loved the sauces and nice side veggie dishes too. 1,750 Yen 🥓

5. Fuunji, flavorful dipping ramen with a vending machine to order! 1,400 (with egg + bamboo add on)🍱

6. Maguro Koya, holy crap I'm addicted to Ootoro now. So glad we splurged and got the double portion. We also tried the chutoro sashimi to compare cuts. 3,200 Yen 🍣

Hope this provides some delicious inspo for the best food in Japan!
Here's what I found from Ragtag in Japan!! 🤩🤩
I've definitely had my eye on a Dior piece and it's extra special that this design is a Japan exclusive.
I have to say, second hand designer shopping is a lot harder than I remembered! There are SO many stores now, I probably visited 20+ and the prices are not so cheap anymore 🤧🤧
.
A similar card holder from Dior is probably $600 CAD + tax. I got this one for ~$350 CAD. It's in excellent condition but there was no dust bag nor box.
