I’m not sure about you, but I get pretty dry flaky lips during the winter time. I put together some lipsticks to try for winter this year focusing on products that would be hydrating and also glide over any imperfections. We’re probably all stuck at home, but hey, doesn’t mean we can’t have shiny smooth lips while we’re at it.

Smashbox Mindful 5 Nourishing Oil

For a completely clear gloss, my pick is the Smashbox Mindful 5 Nourishing Oil. I love the sleek minimalist packaging and it provides a lot of shine without any stickiness. It glides right over any dry flaky skin.
Guerlain Kiss Kiss Roselip in Peach Sunrise

The Guerlain Kiss Kiss Roselip line is a tinted lip balm formula. Peach Sunrise is a super pretty peach color in the tube but mostly colourless on the lips. What I like about this product is that the shimmer in the formula gives my lips a perfected look. It seems to plump my lips and just create a very smooth canvas. In terms of ingredients, this lipstick includes rose oil which smells great and is also hydrating.
Kiehls Butterstick Lip Treatment in Simply Rose

I have the limited edition packaging from the Kiehl’s Holiday Collection which I recently reviewed. The Butterstick Lip Treatment in Simply Rose is a solid tinted lip balm formula. It feels very nourishing on the lips due to the coconut oil and lemon butter. The Simply Rose shade is a pretty sheer red which looks very natural on the lips.
Fresh Sugar Honey Tinted Lip Treatment

I love the original Fresh lip balm and I’ve tried quite a few of their other tinted lip treatments as well. The shade Honey still does accentuate the dry skin a little but I wanted to include a nude option in this post. I find nude lipsticks generally accentuate lip lines but this one is on the forgiving side.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Glazed Mauve

If I could only select one product from this whole post, the Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick wins my vote! I don’t know how this formula works but it just glides over my lips like butter. This specific shade is also super flattering and is just a hint of pink and purple! Although there’s no specific hydrating claims, I find this leaves my lip feeling very comfortable and I love how glassy and smooth my lips look.
Revlon Ultra HD Vinyl Lip Polish in So Shady

Lastly, I wanted to pick a very deep color option as winter time is perfect for bold dark shades. I am a big fan of the Revlon Ultra HD Vinyl Lip Polish formula (I swatched a whole range of shades in a previous post). The shade So Shady is a dark plummy red. It’s a high shine formula and I find that it covers up any flaky skin and provides a flawless look.
So, there are my picks for lip products to try this winter! I focused on products that would be hydrating and also hide any dry flaky skin on the lips! Hope you found this post helpful and I hope to have some more winter beauty tips for you soon.
