Summer 2021 Nail Polish Picks

July 6, 2021

It’s hot girl summer time! Yes I did just use that term. Cringey or not, I am super excited to get back to normal and for me that includes playing around with different nail polish colors! I love pastel polishes so summer time is my favorite for painting my nails. Today, I’m sharing with you my top summer 2021 nail polish picks!

OPI Infinite Shine – Movie Buff

Is there a nail polish brand more iconic than OPI? I am really loving how glossy the Infinite Shine formula is even before their top coat. Movie Buff is a very light pink with a slightly lilac tone. This is actually from their Spring 2021 Hollywood Vibes collection but I think it’s a perfect nail polish color for the summer time! This color brings out a tan and is classy for all occasions.

Revlon Ultra HD Snap!

I’m a big fan of Revlon makeup products but this is the first time I’m using a Revlon nail polish. The Ultra HD Snap is a new collection and features a quick drying polish that promises a 1 coat finish. I still used two coats but I was impressed by how smooth the colors looked after just one coat. I don’t recommend using just one coat because you’ll likely need to put on a thicker layer which dramatically increases drying time and the chance of smudging your nails before it fully dries!

016 Get Real is a pastel lavender blue. This is definitely the type of shades I gravitate towards during spring and summer. For a very neutral understated color, 018 Keep Cool is a great nail polish color for this summer.

Quo Flash Dry Nail Colour – Mellow

It is so hard to find a good yellow nail polish between the lack of pigmentation and streaking. But this nail polish might be my favorite yellow nail polish yet! The color is fully opaque with two coats and I love that it’s a muted pastel yellow. Quo is Shopper’s Drug Mart’s house beauty brand and the Flash Dry Nail Colour is a great formula! The polish has a slight fruity/sweet scent if you like something without the traditional fumes.

Essie – Pucker Up

I always found the square essie bottles so cute with the iconic white lid. The one thing I used to not like about essie is that their brush was so skinny and hard to control. But I’m super stoked to report that essie now has a thicker brush and it’s so easy to use for a streak free application! Normally, I don’t gravitate towards such bright colors like pucker up. However, this shade is super flattering and the slight silver duochrome makes it nostalgic but still trendy. I am shocked at how much I love this on my nails!

Which one do you like?
Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁 In just a few weeks, the Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁

In just a few weeks, the leaves are going to be golden red at Trout Lake!! 🤩😍. What are your favorite fall foliage spots in Vancouver?
Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤 Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤

Here are the best things I ate in Japan - restaraunt edition! (do you want to see one for snacks? or do you want to see a worst things I ate in Japan?)
Prices of the specific dish listed below.

1. Kanoko, try their special green tea infused soba or normal soba. I loved the dashi and tempura. Perfect lunch option for after visiting the tori gates. 1,300 Yen 🍜

2. Okonomiyaki Sakaba, you can pick the inside filling and a lot of the options were meat based. The sauce on top is delicious and you may be surprised the inside is mostly cabbage and not flour. 1,000 Yen🍥

3. Udon Bo Osaka, I tried out a cold dipping udon and it was excellent! They have a special yuzu sauce and the tempura is amazing too. 1,250 Yen 🍤

4. Roast Beef Ohno, the most affordable way to eat wagyu! Loved the sauces and nice side veggie dishes too. 1,750 Yen 🥓

5. Fuunji, flavorful dipping ramen with a vending machine to order! 1,400 (with egg + bamboo add on)🍱

6. Maguro Koya, holy crap I'm addicted to Ootoro now. So glad we splurged and got the double portion. We also tried the chutoro sashimi to compare cuts. 3,200 Yen 🍣

Hope this provides some delicious inspo for the best food in Japan!
Here's what I found from Ragtag in Japan!! 🤩🤩
I've definitely had my eye on a Dior piece and it's extra special that this design is a Japan exclusive.
I have to say, second hand designer shopping is a lot harder than I remembered! There are SO many stores now, I probably visited 20+ and the prices are not so cheap anymore 🤧🤧
.
A similar card holder from Dior is probably $600 CAD + tax. I got this one for ~$350 CAD. It's in excellent condition but there was no dust bag nor box.

📍 Ragtag, Shinseibashi, Osaka
