If you’re looking for a lip color to wear under masks that just won’t budge, you have to try out Clarins Water Lip Stain! I tried out my first shade from their Summer 2019 collection and loved the color. I recently received 3 more shades that I want to show you.

The Clarins Water Lip Stain provides long lasting color with a barely there feel. The name is super appropriate as it feels like you’re brushing water on your lips. But the water contains a lot of pigment and color. The color dries to a matte finish and you won’t have to worry about smudging at all! The color seems to be one with your lips. Their clinical test with volunteers showed that the color lasts up to 300 kisses!

The color will dry down in about a minute and after that, it really does not move! So this is perfect for wearing masks around and not having to worry about color transferring. The color stains a bit more than I’d like though as when I remove my makeup with micellar water, the color does not come out!
I get pretty full pigmentation with just one coat but you can possibly try to customize by only dotting on color for a lighter swipe of color. Or adding another coat if you want even more impact.

Clarins Water Lip Stain 01 Rose Water
The first shade I have is their lightest called 01 Rose Water. It looks almost coral and red in the bottle but definitely turns pink on the lips. Just a note that all of these are suppose to have a matte finish once it dries down. However, once it dries, it won’t budge. So for these photos I had to take them as soon as I applied it and this is glossier than how it would normally look.

Clarins Water Lip Stain 03 Red Water
The first shade I tried was also red but it had gold flecks. This shade is a pure red. I think it would be so nice for a formal event with neutral makeup and a black dress.

Clarins Water Lip Stain 04 Violet Water
For a darker, bolder choice, check out shade 04 Violet Water. It looks super deep in the bottle but is a wearable plummy shade on the lips. This is definitely a fall/winter vibe for me but I can see this being a statement lip during the warmer months as well.

These 3 shades are all really beautiful and different. They are not the most unique shades but they are classic shades that seem to be flattering on a lot of people. On a daily basis I prefer more of a glossy, lighter pigmentation lipstick. However, this will be my go to for special events and on days where I want the color to look natural but stay all day!
