It is the most wonderful time of the year and especially if you want to buy some new makeup products! You’ll often find great value holiday sets not to mention beautiful limited edition packaging. Today I’ll be sharing some of the best beauty picks from BeautySense – a Canadian online store for skincare and cosmetics products.
For a blast to the past, here is my first article sharing BeautySense and some of their skincare offerings!
Buxom Holiday Beauty Set – Dolly On Stage

Buxom is known for their plumping lip gloss and their holiday gift sets are the perfect time to try them out. The Buxom Dolly on Stage set is available for $33 on BeautySense. This set includes a plumping lip polish, a lip liner and a lip balm. I just realized I had this exact same lip polish back in 2014, so clearly this is a best selling product that’s become a classic. A berry shade is so beautiful for the fall and winter time and Dolly would be a flattering shade for a wide range of skin tones. This is a fantastic buy for yourself or as a gift! This set is actually not available at Sephora so go get your hands on it at BeautySense!
bareMinerals Mineralist Cozy Chalet Eyeshadow Palette

My next holiday beauty pick is the bareMinerals Mineralist Cozy Chalet Eyeshadow Palette. I was really drawn to the starburst packaging and the calming light blue color. This is a good pick as the eyeshadow colors are versatile enough to create a variety of looks but also very wearable. Again, this eyeshadow palette is actually not being sold at Sephora which I thought was neat to explore new retailers and new product options!
The packaging is super cute and wintery without being cliche. However, note that there is no mirror on the inside and this is in a cardboard packaging.
Holiday Beauty Look 2022
Next, I have a few makeup picks that’s great for yourself or a close friend if you know their shade or preferences.
Stila Tinted Moisturizer Skin Balm

I used to review Stila products so much on the blog but I feel Sephora stopped stocking their items. Luckily you can find a really good selection of Stila products on BeautySense. Building on the trend of multi tasking products, this Skin Balm is part skincare and part makeup. It’s also in a convenient compact so you can bring it with you for touch ups!
Jane Iredale Eye Shadow Triple in Ravishing

I’ve never used Jane Iredale products before so I really wanted to give this a try. If you’re transitioning to clean makeup, this brand is all about that! Their products are on the expensive side but first impression of this little compact is that it does feel luxurious and well made. I specifically picked the shade Ravishing because of the rich purple shade that would look so beautiful in an evening out.
These are on the lighter pigmented side so it would achieve a more natural look. I believe it is a mineral makeup line which usually has less pigmented eyeshadows. The swatches look decent but it was harder to build up a true color using an eyeshadow brush. If I use my fingers to pat on the colors though, it looked a lot more vibrant!
Buxom WanderLust Blush in Seychelles

Okay, I had to include another Buxom product in here as I’ve been wanting to try their Wanderlust blushes for a while and this nude shade in Seychelles is so unique. I have naturally red cheeks so I tend to stay away from pink and red blushes. I prefer corals or berry shades. In the theme of less is more, Seychelles can definitely double as contour. An even better bonus is that this blush smells like a tropical escape! Exactly what I need in the cold Canadian winter. I have been using this every day since getting it and is my favorite product from this whole post!

I hope this post gave you some ideas of makeup products to give as holiday gifts and also some to treat yourself! Go shop all the amazing products at Beautysense!
