With the weather turning warmer, it may be time to switch to a lighter face cream! In this post, I’m sharing some of my favorite light weight gel moisturizers to try for Spring 2023! These are still going to be hydrating for the skin but have a lighter texture and a more refreshing feel than what I’ve been using this winter time. So ditch your heavy creams, and swap in one of these refreshing gels!
Belif Aqua Bomb

This first product is already really popular so you may have heard of it already. The Belif Aqua Bomb is a beauty community favorite for a lightweight moisturizer. This cream will provide a burst of hydration and claims to keep your skin moisturized for 26 hours! Some notable ingredients include a herb called Lady’s Mantle as well as glycerin and ceramide. You can often find this product in Sephora gift sets so it’s easy to try a trial size.
Antipodes Culture Probiotic Night Recovery Water Cream

I first heard about Antipodes in 2021 when they launched in Canada. Antipodes is a beauty brand all the way from New Zealand combining science and nature. If you’re looking to lighten up your skincare routine, this cream is a great option! While it looks like a cream in the bottle, the texture feels more like a gel when rubbed into the skin. The refreshing texture does not mean it’s any less hydrating. With hyaluronic acid and New Zealand mamaku black fern, this face cream keeps my skin feeling plump and moisturized. There is quite a relaxing and unique scent that is a combination of lavender and nature.
Innisfree Dewy Glow Jelly Cream

Another cream that I’d recommend to switch up for spring is the Innisfree Dewy Glow Jelly Cream. If you’re not familiar with Innisfree, it is one of Korea’s most popular beauty brands and recently became available at Sephora Canada (feels like a world tour on this post). The product is aptly named “jelly” cream as the texture is more akin to a jelly than a gel. The featured ingredient is the Jeju Cherry Blossom. For soft, glowing skin, you have to give this jelly cream a try this spring!
Boscia Cactus Water Moisturizer

Lastly, this is the gel moisturizer I’ve been currently using and what inspired me to write this post. Although this gel moisturizer feels so refreshing on the skin, it does an amazing job hydrating and keeping my skin plump. The featured ingredient is an extract of the “Queen of the Night” cactus. There’s also peptides to help with fighting wrinkles. If you have sensitive or acne prone skin, this moisturizer will also be a great pick as it’s quite gentle!
Available at Shoppers Drug Mart for $50
Hope this post gave you some ideas on which gel moisturizers to try for Spring 2023.
