Dermalogica Phyto Nature Oxygen Cream

May 28, 2023

I’ve been doing so many skincare features on Instagram but I can’t believe it’s been two years since featuring a skincare product on the blog! The Dermalogica Phyto Nature Oxygen Cream really blew me away and I knew I had to write a dedicated post for it. If you want to look four years younger (yes, that’s the claim) then read on!

About the Brand

Usually, I love skincare that has fun packaging and a cute name. To me, Dermalogica is more about efficacy than cheeky marketing. Every product that I’ve tried from the brand has worked very well on my skin. You know it’s also trusted by professionals as they are used in luxury spas and facials as well.

Dermalogica Phyto Nature Oxygen Ingredients

The major claim of this product is that it’ll turn your skin back 4 years! Now that I’ve hit 30s, I can definitely see a change in my skin and I would LOVE to have my skin from my 27 year old self.

This product is well suited for any skin type and especially those who are getting concerns on wrinkles, dryness and loss of elasticity.

Some of the star ingredients are:

  • Ligustrum lucidum seed, glycogen, nasturtium: oxygenate and hydrate the skin
  • Adaptagenic astragalus: smooth and tighten
  • Luffa root, squalene: visibly firm and minimizes look of texture

When I look at the list of ingredients, jojoba oil is second and squalene is fifth. It’s nice to see some of these star ingredients high up on the list.

Formula and Results

As soon as you feel the texture of the Dermalogica Phyto Nature Oxygen Cream, you’ll understand its price tag. The cream is very lightweight and liquidy when you pump it out, almost like a serum. However, what is so impressive is that it doesn’t slip away. It actually provides a very hydrating and nourishing feel like a thick night cream. My skin is on the dry side and I wake up with juicy plump skin thanks to this cream!

I’ve noticed significant differences in my wrinkles being more filled in. I tend to burrow my brows a lot so I have a line down my eyebrows and also across my forehead. Using this for just a few days, my skin looks smoother! My face also feels more resilient and calm. It’s a bit hard to explain but I know when my skin is irritated, my cheeks tend to get red. But this product keeps my skin calm and soothed.

Lastly, I wanted to mention the thoughtful packaging. It is a glass container with a good weight to it. Also, the pump dispenser keeps the product sanitary and protected for longer!

I know this product is on the expensive side but it really works wonders and is already my favorite night cream!

No reservations are required and the fare is just the basic fare (approximately $4!) 🚅
Check online for the most updated timetable but the most current is
9:32, 11:32, 13:32, and 15:32 leaving Osaka for Kyoto!
We showed up 30 minutes before boarding and was the first ones for car 5. Car 3 seems to be the most popular for the cherry blossoms!

I've been using this a lot on my vacation and it stays on amazingly well all day even with the humidity.
I went for a more unique shade but all the basic browns and neutrals are available too!

Would you swap your current eyeshadow for this?

1. BUYING TICKETS 🎟 - Tickets are about $30 CAD each and you can purchase online directly. I'd recommend buying one month in advance to secure the 9am time slot!

2. WEAR A DRESS, if you want 👗- there's warning that the mirrors will reflect and your undergarments would show 🤭 but unless someone's standing right on top of you, it won't be visible. I wore shorts to avoid this but I think a skirt or dress would have been totally fine.

3. GO EARLY 😶‍🌫️ - I know, oldest tip in the book but it took us almost an hour to get there from shinjuku. We arrived at 850am for 9am entry and there was already a huge line. We got in around 930am.

4. READ THE PLAQUES 📜 - either before or after the exhibits, there are plaques that explain the exhibit. Although teamlab is amazing for photos, it adds a layer of depth if you understand what the exhibit is trying to convey. A lot of the interactive artwork shows the connection of humans and the environment we live in. It's super interesting!!
