Burt’s Bees Renewal Skincare Review

July 13, 2023

I’ve been using the Burt’s Bees Renewal Skincare collection for the past month or so and pleased to report that my skin likes it! The collection features Bakuchiol which is a natural alternative to retinol and more gentle on the skin. My skin reacts to retinol if I use it more than a few days in a row but I found no irritation with this collection! I’m going to walk you through the four products that I used.

Burt’s Bees Renewal Refining Cleanser

Starting off with my favorite product! This cleanser by Burt’s Bees really blew me away! I don’t switch up my cleansers very often and actually recently went through a bunch of new cleansers that were just alright. I really enjoyed the texture of this cleanser which was very creamy and did not strip the skin at all. Suspended in the cream were these micro exfoliants and the physical exfoliation was an added bonus. I also love that the formula is gentle and did not sting my eye at all. If you want a cleanser that takes off the dirt but keeps your skin well hydrated, this is such a good pick and at an amazing price!

Burt’s Bees Renewal Dark Spot Corrector

For the serum of this collection, the Burt’s Bees Dark Spot Corrector features Bakuchiol and Vitamin C. I was initially put off by the color of the serum as it reminds me of my expired Vitamin C products. However, I’m very glad I gave it a try as I found it to be effective and well tolerated by my skin. The dropper packaging makes it easy to keep the product sanitary. The consistency is like water and this serum absorbs into the skin very fast.

I was struggling with bumpy skin including clogged pores, white heads, and other unsightly blemishes. With just a few days of usage, my forehead area was so much smoother! It has also lightened the myraid of sun spots that’s currently dotting my cheekbones. I didn’t notice anything specific on wrinkles but overall, I would recommend this serum.

Burt’s Bees Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream

Okay, so this is the only item out of the collection that I wouldn’t full heartedly recommend. First off, I appreciate what they’re trying to do with the pump dispenser but it was not working well for me. Once it was finally pumping products consistently, the amount dispensed was way more than I would normally use for my eyes so I ended up just using the excess as a face cream. I do enjoy the texture and the light cream is easily absorbed by the eye area.

If you have sensitive eye areas, this is a nice alternative because it’s fragrance free. I just personally did not see any significant benefits to my eye area.

Burt’s Bees Renewal Anti-Wrinkle Moisturizing Cream

I recently wrote a post about lightweight moisturizers to try for Spring. This cream would have definitely topped the list. I’m amazed at how hydrated and supple my skin feels when I wake up in the morning after using this. The glass jar has a honeycomb effect on the bottom which I thought was a nice detail.

The Burt’s Bees Anti-Wrinkle Moisturizing Cream contains Bakuchiol and Vitamin E with an aim to reduce wrinkles and improve skin texture. In the jar, this cream actually feels like it would be quite thick. However, once you spread it on the skin, it becomes a watery and thin texture. At first, I thought this would be a problem but my skin feels so moisturized the next day and I love it!

I have not used drugstore skincare for a while but I am very impressed by the quality and effectiveness of these products! I’ve always been a huge fan of burt’s bees lip balm and so glad to see their skincare collection be just as good. Hope you get a chance to try these out!

Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁 In just a few weeks, the Hellllooo fall! 🍂🍁

In just a few weeks, the leaves are going to be golden red at Trout Lake!! 🤩😍. What are your favorite fall foliage spots in Vancouver?
Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤 Editing this post made MY MOUTH WATER!! 🤤🤤

Here are the best things I ate in Japan - restaraunt edition! (do you want to see one for snacks? or do you want to see a worst things I ate in Japan?)
Prices of the specific dish listed below.

1. Kanoko, try their special green tea infused soba or normal soba. I loved the dashi and tempura. Perfect lunch option for after visiting the tori gates. 1,300 Yen 🍜

2. Okonomiyaki Sakaba, you can pick the inside filling and a lot of the options were meat based. The sauce on top is delicious and you may be surprised the inside is mostly cabbage and not flour. 1,000 Yen🍥

3. Udon Bo Osaka, I tried out a cold dipping udon and it was excellent! They have a special yuzu sauce and the tempura is amazing too. 1,250 Yen 🍤

4. Roast Beef Ohno, the most affordable way to eat wagyu! Loved the sauces and nice side veggie dishes too. 1,750 Yen 🥓

5. Fuunji, flavorful dipping ramen with a vending machine to order! 1,400 (with egg + bamboo add on)🍱

6. Maguro Koya, holy crap I'm addicted to Ootoro now. So glad we splurged and got the double portion. We also tried the chutoro sashimi to compare cuts. 3,200 Yen 🍣

Hope this provides some delicious inspo for the best food in Japan!
Here's what I found from Ragtag in Japan!! 🤩🤩
I've definitely had my eye on a Dior piece and it's extra special that this design is a Japan exclusive.
I have to say, second hand designer shopping is a lot harder than I remembered! There are SO many stores now, I probably visited 20+ and the prices are not so cheap anymore 🤧🤧
.
A similar card holder from Dior is probably $600 CAD + tax. I got this one for ~$350 CAD. It's in excellent condition but there was no dust bag nor box.
