Life has been really busy lately but I am back with a blog post!! In August, my boyfriend finally relocated from Portland to Vancouver so we were busy moving. And then in September, we went on a two week vacation to Japan!
I’ve actually had these lipsticks in my collection for a few months now but I just got a chance to try them and I’m blown away. If you are looking for a high impact, bold lip color, you need to try the Shiseido TechnoSatin Gel Lipstick! These will definitely be my go to for any holiday parties this year!
This is surprisingly my first ever Shiseido makeup product so I am not as familiar with the brand’s usual packaging. I do love their Ultimune serume and sunscreen though!
The outside box was honestly not that eye catching for me but the actual lipstick case is bold and luxurious. There is a nice magnetic closure for the lid. Another thing I love about this lipstick is how sharp and small the tip of the lipstick is. That small square tip helps make the application precise especially when we are working with such bold colors.
Shiseido TechnoGel Satin Lipstick Formula
When I tried on the Shiseido TechnoGel Satin lipstick, I was blown by the pigmentation and shiny finish. There is so much pure color payoff in just one swipe. The shades straight out of the tube looked just okay but it is exceedingly beautiful on my actual lips. It feels weightless on the lips and has wonderful staying power even with a shiny finish.
I applied all of these without the use of a lip liner although the addition of a lip liner would make the finish a bit more perfected.
411 Scarlet Cluster
Starting off with Scarlet Cluster. In the tube, it looked like a very vampy dark berry. But on my lips, this shade is really wearable. You can see the color is super rich and pigmented while providing a shiny finish that covers dry lips. This is the best berry lipstick shade I’ve tried in a long time!
416 Red Shift
Holy crap, if you want a head turning red, this is it! This shade of the Shiseido TechnoSatin Gel lipstick is a true red that make your teeth look glittering white. It’s so richly pigmented and would look stunning as the focal point of a party makeup look.
403 Augmented Nude
Lastly, I am so pleasantly surprised by how this shade turned out on the lips and I think it’s my favorite nude lipstick ever! In the tube, the shade was very light and beige and I thought it would completely wash me out. But somehow, against the natural colors of my lips, this shade turned into a beautiful chestnut neutral with a hint of orange. It’s really flattering and definitely a must try if you haven’t had luck with “nude” lipsticks in the past.
Overall, all three of these shades looked so much better on me than in the tube. I’m not sure if it’s because the brand is Japanese so it’s more suitable for Asian skin tones, but I love all three shades! These lipsticks are made in Japan true to its brand. Let me know if you get a chance to try these too!
