For fancy occasions or when I know I’m going to get photos taken, highlighters are my weapon of choice.
What to Look For
- Tone: Depending on your skin color, you’ll want a different shade. If you are fair skinned, look for more of a champagne or opal shade. Otherwise, if it’s too pigmented, it’ll look like a streak of color on top of your cheekbones. Conversly, if you are darker skinned, look for a gold or bronze shade as it’ll blend in with your skin tone more and not look ashy or unnatural.
- Glitter: This is based on preference but I would say unless you are going for a creative editorial look to stay away from glitters. Most of the time, it’ll make your look tacky and you risk smearing the glitter all over your face. I prefer textures that have more of a reflective sheen.
