Battle of Body Lotions

July 19, 2014

Welcome to another edition of round ups! Here I have body lotions. I know I used to have a ton of bottles lying around but I’ve really tried to slim down to only keep what I want to use up.

If you are interested to see what’s my current body lotions and their info, read on! Also, as a side note, I also provided the first 5 ingredients for each body lotion inspired after doing my review on the Red Flower body lotion that you can read here.

1) The Body Shop Body Butter 50mL
Scent: Ginger Sparkle
Where did I get it: As a Christmas Present
Cost: —
How long have I had it: 1.5 years
How much have I used: 80%- Edit: Just finished last month
First 5 ingredients: Water, shea butter, glycerin, cetearyl alcohol, glyceryl stearate

2) Bath and Body Works Body Lotion 88mL
Scent: Paris Amour
Where did I get it: BBW boxing day-Β Haul
Cost: $3
How long have I had it: 6 months
How much have I used: 1%, haven’t used it much
First 5 ingredients: Water, glycerin, petrolatum, cetyl alcohol, cetearyl alcohol
3) Bath and Body Works Hand Cream 59mL
Scent: Winter Candy Apple
Where did I get it: BBW boxing day-Β Haul
Cost: $1.5
How long have I had it: 6 months
How much have I used: 10%. The scent is too strong for me as a hand cream and also leaves a weird feeling on my hand. So I’ve decided to use it as a body lotion.
First 5 ingredients: Water, mineral oil, cyclopentasiloxane, stearic acid, glyceryl stearate
4) Bath and Body Works Triple Moisture Body Cream 266g
Scent: Bali Mango
Where did I get it: BBW semi annual sale-Β Haul
Cost: $4
How long have I had it: 1 year
How much have I used: 5%. I got this because so many youtubers say they prefer this formula over the original body lotion but I haven’t had a chance to use this.

First 5 ingredients: Water, glycerin, capric triglyceride, glyceryl stearate, fragrance

Different consistencies. L to R: body lotion, hand cream, body cream
5) Fruits and Passion Body Cream 350mL
Scent: Grapefruit Guava
Where did I get it: As a birthday present
Cost: Free
How long have I had it: At least 4 years :/
How much have I used: 25%.
First 5 ingredients: Water, glyceryl stearate, glycerin, Β octyldodecanol, sweet almond oil
6) Red Flower Moisturizing Body Lotion 350mL
Scent: Icelandic Moonflower
Where did I get it: From Red Flower
Cost: Sent for review
How long have I had it: 2 weeks!
How much have I used: 2%. I’ve been using this alot since I got it! The scent was a bit weird at first but now I’m loving it.

First 5 ingredients: Water, aloe leaf, safflower seed oil, vegetable wax, apricot kernel oil

Overall, I think I’m going to try and stay away from Bath and Body works lotions in the future. Their packaging and sale are so attractive though gah! I do notice that drugstores also have a lot of interesting body lotions so I might venture there. But it will probably be a year until I finish my current stash!

What’s your favorite brand for body lotions? Do you have a stash of it at home? Or do you just keep one or two at a time?
